A new DOJ report showed that there were dozens of FBI informants present at the Capitol riot, and even some liberals are outraged that they’ve been lied to by their own party.

No one is stopping this or even insisting on basic accountability. Who honestly thinks that Zhou can make informed decisions—beyond, maybe, his choice of ice cream?

The Chinese are serious about hitting back hard in a trade war. But the Trump team might pivot in a more constructive direction. Perhaps a new Plaza Accord or even a new Bretton Woods-style monetary system based on our research at @hiia_budapest
Here’s what Pilkington is basing his cautious optimism on:

Wall Street is having a hard time trying to figure out the incoming Trump presidency. After the election, the US dollar rallied based on the idea that the new administration would unleash a wave of tariffs. This would drive up inflation, which in turn would provoke the Federal Reserve to raise interest rates. The strong dollar trade is now reversing, however, with Wall Street firms saying they expect the currency to decline by anywhere between 2% and 7% in 2025.
What has happened? Analysts no longer seem convinced that Trump will engage in a trade war. While he has consistently stated his intention to ramp up tariffs — two weeks ago he took aim at Mexico and Canada — chatter behind the scenes suggests that this might just be rhetoric aimed at softening up the other side to negotiate a deal.
There are a few public indications that this might be the case. The first is the nomination of Scott Bessent to the position of secretary of the Treasury. Bessent is a hedge fund manager who used to work for George Soros, but has since become a regular staple around Mar-a-Lago and MAGA world more generally.
Although he has made some protectionist noises in the past, he is far from a typical tariff advocate. Over the summer, he stated in an interview that rather than pushing the world into a trade war, the United States and its partners should focus on creating a new monetary system similar to the Bretton Woods system that emerged after the Second World War.
Related to this is the suggestion, floated by Trump himself, that China’s Xi Jinping should attend January’s inauguration. This is a highly unusual gesture, as it is rare for foreign leaders to attend American presidential inaugurations — and unheard of that a leader from a country with relatively poor bilateral ties would attend. But the invitation has led some to speculate that Trump might be working on getting “the mother of all deals” with the Chinese.
Depending on what the end product looks like, a new monetary system could be revolutionary in its implications. At the more moderate end of the spectrum, the deal might resemble the Plaza Accords agreed between Japan and the United States in the Eighties.
At the time, Japan was running far too large a trade surplus with the United States and so the two countries agreed that they would manage a decline in the value of the US dollar relative to the yen to iron out the trade imbalances. A new Plaza Accord would help close the American trade deficit and rebalance the two economies.
On the more radical end of the spectrum would be a genuinely new monetary architecture likely integrating John Maynard Keynes’s concept of the bancor, essentially a global bank and currency. Keynes proposed the bancor arrangement at the 1944 Bretton Woods conference, but it was rejected in favour of a gold-backed dollar because the Americans recognised the power of the dollar as a reserve currency.
The bancor was set up so that it would force automatic adjustments on countries that ran imbalanced trade, whether that was a trade surplus or deficit.
I’m not sure I can share Pilkington’s optimism. Regarding China, Xi has turned down the invite to the inauguration extravaganza. That should come as no surprise. Americans, especially Americans like Trump, delight in flamboyant gestures. Not so the cautious Chinese. Xi will want to verify before trusting—or even getting too close to negotiations.
As for anything like a new Plaza Accord, I very much suspect that the Chinese are far too smart—and in a much stronger position than Japan was—too fall for that. The Chinese are perfectly capable of doing a simple search—like, Plaza Accord destroyed Japan—and proceeding from there. Their immediate response might be an invitation to the American side to try getting its fiscal house in order before proposing any negotiations.
Still, recognizing that you—meaning, we—have a problem is the beginning of wisdom. When conning the other side doesn’t work, maybe we can start taking some positive steps. It beats foolish saber rattling and “war with China by 2027”. And speaking of that, whatever happened to “war with China by 2025”? By 2027 Israel will have drawn down virtually our entire munitions stockpile, with our industrial base incapable of rebuilding it. The Chinese and Russians know that, too.

The UNESCO documents place heavy emphasis on disclosing who’s funding content creators while ignoring its partner, the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP), and its alleged influence over UNESCO: The Chinese Communist Party uses UNESCO to “rewrite history” and to “legitimize the party’s rule over regions with large ethnic minorities.”
When held to a mirror, UNESCO comes off as little more than hypocritical with massive conflicts of interests of its own: One of the biggest ethical questions is knowing from where content creators derive their income.
At the same time, UNESCO points readers towards organizations like factcheck.org, which itself is funded by the likes of the U.S. State Department and the Robert Woods Johnson Foundation, the latter of which holds approximately $2 billion of stock in COVID vaccine manufacturer J&J, according to U.S. Rep. Thomas Massie.
In January 2021, UNESCO, the WHO, UNDP, EU, and the Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas ran a similar type of propaganda campaign for so-called COVID vaccine disinformation training for journalists as they are now doing for so-called climate change disinformation for content creators.
Another goal of UNESCO and the Knight Center is to create an environment where content creators snitch on one another under the guise of “hate speech”:
Among those targeted by hate speech, most chose to ignore it (31.5%). Only one-fifth (20.4%) reported it to social media platforms. This indicates an area where UNESCO and its partners could provide valuable training for digital content creators on how to effectively address and report hate speech.
In other words, the U.N. is partnering with journalists to teach influencers how to become victims that need protection.

President Trump Converts to Orthodox Judaism:

President Trump announced that he will follow in his beautiful daughter’s footsteps and convert to Orthodox Judaism.
This is an unprecedented move for a President, but he is convinced this will help ease any harsh and negative feelings toward him since the Charlottesville attack and his plethora of blunders when it comes to race relations and anti-Semitism. Timed perfectly for Hanukkah and the holiday season, Trump’s decision comes after days of consulting with his D.C. Area Rabbi — Rabbi Gary Busey.
President Trump is committed to only eating kosher food even though it means giving up his late-night fast food treats like McDonald’s and taco bowl from the Trump Grill. But he is very much looking forward to gefilte fish and traditional potato stew, chulent. It is unclear whether Melania and Baron will convert as well, but President Trump is encouraging them to join him. Even if that means Melania will have to wear long skirts and wigs.
“I love the Jewish people,” Trump said in a statement. “Last year I enjoyed a great Hanukah with the latkes and the dreidels at my amazing Mar-a-Lago, and I figured why not wear a yarmulke and just convert. I intend on making religion great again, too. Believe me.”
Trump plans on rewriting the Ten Commandments citing that they are ancient rules and they need to be upgraded to fit the world he lives in. Regarding the Sabbath, he usually rests anyway on Saturday so adjusting his lifestyle won’t be an issue. Trump doesn’t plan on wearing a yarmulke. He believes the way he conducts himself daily is God fearing enough; however, he will wear a yarmulke when in a synagogue as is the custom.
“I have respect for traditions and customs for all people,” Trump said. “Except for the illegals.” Trump also plans on rebuilding the Western Wall, coating it in signature Trump gold, and renaming it the Trump Wall. No notes will be allowed in its crevices. Too messy.
To commemorate this historic conversion, Trump, his family, and some cabinet members will visit the Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C. to honor the Jewish people that came before him and to criticize how he could have made a better museum. Hope Hicks will be asked to stay behind. Too goyish.
President Trump wants to make a few things clear regarding his conversion:
1) this doesn’t mean he will disavow David Duke.
2) he will still support Steve Bannon and Breitbart.
3) He will definitely not be getting a bris at the age of 71.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has been walking on a political tightrope for years. His balance is unsteady. The threads of the rope are fraying. Yet, somehow, Trudeau keeps managing to stay upright.
Trudeau should have prorogued parliament or resigned years ago
It’s not due to skill or political savvy. That Trudeau has survived so far is mainly down to sheer dumb luck. His minority Liberal governments have survived solely because of mathematical logistics of seat tallies rather than any popular legislation he has passed. He’s faced Conservative opposition leaders who have imploded. He’s been propped up by the New Democratic party, Canada’s socialist alternative, which has supported Trudeau’s party in a supply and confidence agreement for over two years.
Some political observers believed Trudeau’s final performance in the parliamentary big top had occurred on Monday. This was after deputy prime minister and finance minister Chrystia Freeland’s bombshell announcement that she had resigned from Trudeau’s cabinet. No one apparently saw it coming, including her stunned Liberal colleagues.
‘On Friday, you told me you no longer want me to serve as your finance minister and offered me another position in the cabinet,’ she wrote in her resignation letter. ‘Upon reflection, I have concluded that the only honest and viable path is for me to resign from the cabinet. To be effective, a minister must speak on behalf of the prime minister and with his full confidence. In making your decision, you made clear that I no longer credibly enjoy that confidence and possess the authority that comes with it.’
Freeland also added that, ‘For the past number of weeks, you and I have found ourselves at odds about the best path forward for Canada.’
What caused this dissension? Chiefly it is Trudeau’s inability to work with Canada’s provinces and territories to find a solution to president-elect Donald Trump’s impending 25 per cent tariffs on all Canadian goods. ‘We need to take that threat extremely seriously,’ Freeland noted.
‘That means keeping our fiscal powder dry today, so we have the reserves we may need for a coming tariff war. That means eschewing costly political gimmicks, which we can ill afford and which make Canadians doubt that we recognize the gravity of the moment.’
Freeland knows that Trudeau has relied heavily on political gimmickry. He favours style over substance. He enjoys softball discussions about woke ideology and environmental activism, and is usually disinterested in policy discussions related to financial matters. She, on the other hand, has been called the ‘Minister of Everything’ due to her influential hand in devising this government’s political and economic policies.
It’s pretty clear who the brains of this political operation was. And now she’s gone, sitting as a backbencher until the time is right to run for the Liberal leadership.
This led to a period of pandemonium in Ottawa. Trudeau hid under the radar for several hours. No replacement for the minister of finance was announced until the late afternoon. (It was eventually given to Trudeau’s longtime friend and confidant, public safety minister Dominc LeBlanc.) Freeland was bizarrely slated to give the long-delayed Fall Economic Statement to parliament on Monday, in spite of all that had happened. Understandably, she didn’t. Pierre Poilievre and the Conservatives, who have led in the polls for more than two years and are set to easily form the next government, had a field day. As Poilievre amusingly quipped in Parliament, ‘I have a question for the finance minister. Who are you?’
CTV News even circulated a rumour that Trudeau was either going to prorogue parliament or announce his resignation. A few people in the know, and many who think they know, bought into this. I wasn’t one of them.
Yes, Trudeau should have prorogued parliament or resigned years ago. A traditional political leader would have already done this to save himself from further embarrassment. Trudeau doesn’t fit into this category. He’s long been a divisive and delusional prime minister, as I wrote in a recent National Post column.
He thinks he’s the smartest person in the room, although no one else agrees. He believes that he’s the only one who can save Canada from Trump, although no one would be crazy enough to select him for this task. He doesn’t seem to have the ability to recognize the enormity of the mess he caused on Monday. And when he spoke to a friendly audience at the Laurier Club Event in Gatineau, Quebec that evening, it was like nothing had ever happened.
Trudeau will be gone in 2025. He may resign or be forced out early. He may hold on until the bitter end and go down with the Liberal ship. Either way, he plans to keep walking that political tightrope for as long as he can.
