💥The judge presiding over the highly anticipated Kyle Rittenhouse homicide trial recently criticized what he called a "vast amount" of "irresponsible and sloppy journalism" covering the events surrounding the case.
While speaking with potential jurors during the jury selection process on Monday, Kenosha County Circuit Court Judge Bruce Schroeder said that those selected for the task may need to disregard much of what they have heard in the media about the case.
"This case has become very political. It was involved in the politics of the last election year," Schroeder said in the court session, adding, "To this day, you can go out and read things from all across the political spectrum about this case, most of which is written by people who know nothing." 💥💥Tragedy struck the family of Sree Ranga Aravapalli, 54, a New Jersey-based pharmaceutical executive who was killed in a robbery attempt at his home shortly after cashing in big at aPennsylvania casino, Breitbart reports.
In the early morning hours of Tuesday last week, Aravapalli had ended his night at the Parx Casino by cashing in $10,000 worth of chips. His drive home, roughly 50 miles, was presumably as typical as it ever was, that is, until he arrived at his home and realized what happened.
Reportedly, 27-year-old Jekai Reid-John from Norristown, Pennsylvania, followed Aravapalli all the way to his home in Plainsboro, New Jersey.
There, Reid-John attempted to rob the recent casino winner, which resulted in Aravapalli’s death. Home video surveillance footage reportedly showed the suspect training closely behind Aravapalli as he arrived at his home.
The fatal attack was reported to have occurred as Aravapalli’s wife and daughter were asleep inside their home.
Luckily, on the justice front, authorities were able to quickly apprehend the alleged murderer in Montgomery, Pennsylvania the next day. He was initially charged with first-degree murder, but reports indicate that he could also face additional charges.
The Plainsboro Township Police Department issued a statement on the horrific murder.
“On behalf of the Plainsboro Police Department, I want to offer my sincerest condolences to the Aravapalli family for their tragic loss. This is an unexpected and alarming event for their family, friends and our entire community. I want to reassure the Plainsboro community that our officers and the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office are conducting a thorough and systematic investigation into this matter,” the statement read.
“Upon his return to New Jersey, he will be lodged at the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center pending a pre-trial detention hearing in Superior Court,” a separate report on the incident read. [Mainstreet Gazette]
