Sen. Whitehouse's Votes Directed Millions to NGO Employing His Wife:

Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) has been thrust into the limelight after a new complaint was filed against him for voting to pass laws that funded millions of dollars in grants given to an organization that funds his wife’s consultancy firm.



Who is Sandra Whitehouse, his wife?

Whitehouse, like her husband, who is now a senator, earned a bachelor’s at Yale University. She earned her Master’s Degree at the Graduate School of Oceanography, University of Rhode Island. She married Sheldon Whitehouse in 1986 in the St. George’s School Chapel, Newport, Rhode Island.

 

According to the Senator’s site, the couple lives in Newport and has two children, Molly and Alexander. They also have two grandchildren.

Whitehouse, who was at one time a senior non-resident fellow of the Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security, has worked with nonprofits, government agencies, state agencies, legislative bodies, and private firms.

 

Her husband was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 2006. She first began working for the group at the center of the latest ethics complaint roughly two years later, in 2008. 



According to her LinkedIn profile, Whitehouse began working at Ocean Conservancy as early as September 2008. Whitehouse was a senior advisor, and consulting included strategic advice to the Executive Team and Program Directors and raising awareness about ocean policy issues in various workshops and conferences, as well as engaging key stakeholders with Ocean Conservancy’s mission. Climate change, plastic waste, and ocean planning are some of the policy areas that she focuses on.

 

Whitehouse, who is not employed directly by Ocean Conservancy anymore, does receive payment from the organisation for her consulting firm, Ocean Wonks LLC.

According to LinkedIn, in 2017, she became the president of Ocean Wonks LLC. In this role, “she consults with various non-profits, using decades of experience in scientific, regulatory and policy matters to advocate and educate about ocean policy.”

 

According to USASpending.gov, Ocean Conservancy has received federal grants totaling more than $14 million since 2008. In 2024 alone, it received two large grants. One for $5.2 from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the other for $1.7 from the Environmental Protection Agency. Both were for the cleanup of marine debris.

 

Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) funded the first, and the EPA annual appropriations act funded the second. Both were approved by the senator.



Tax documents show that Ocean Conservancy has paid Whitehouse $2,686,800 in total either directly to her or via her company since 2010.

 

The Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust, an ethics monitor, cited this in a complaint sent last month to Senate Select Committee on Ethics Chair James Lankford (R-Okla.) and Vice-Chairman Chris Coons (D-Del.).

Stephen DeLeo, Whitehouse’s spokesperson, said, “This dark money act is being repeated, as the Senate Ethics Committee has previously rejected a previous dark money attempt to spread these smears.” “The billionaires behind FACT and Supreme Court capture agents would like to prevent Senator Whitehouse from shining light on their actions to deny regular people a fair chance before the Court.”

 

He added that “false accusations by far-right special interest groups and billionaires” would not hinder the senator’s efforts to create an ethical, accountable government that responds effectively to American needs.

 

Whitehouse’s office also provided a letter to Fox News Digital from the committee last year informing another watchdog group, Judicial Watch, that the senator’s actions did not violate “federal laws, Senate rules, or other standards of conduct.”

Tucker Carlson Drops Bomb on GOP Senator Secretly Working Against Trump:

Tucker Carlson said on Monday that a Republican U.S. senator has been fighting behind the scenes to prevent the release of CIA files that contain top-secret intelligence regarding the death of former President John F. Kennedy.

 

Carlson said the individual pushed colleagues on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence to reject President Donald Trump’s nomination of another individual to join his national intelligence team before mentioning the incumbent, who is running for reelection in 2026. Carlson informed podcast host and former CNN anchor Chris Cuomo during his show that they took this action because the nominee had previously asked for a complete, unredacted release of the JFK files.

 

“You have a sitting member of the United States Senate whose main goal is to keep those files secret, and then you have to ask yourself, what is that?” Carlson said.

 

Lee Harvey Oswald, the lone shooter who the CIA determined shot and murdered the 35th president in Dallas, Texas, in 1963, was responsible for Kennedy’s assassination, and both media men believed that “no one is alive” who could be linked to a conspiratorial coverup. Carlson continued by saying that the CIA’s pristine reputation is already “discredited” by the 1975 Church Committee hearings and that he knew someone who might have been trying to do so: Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) of Arkansas.

 

“If you’re telling me that, six weeks ago, a sitting senator was attempting to keep someone out of a job in order to keep these files secret to protect ‘the CIA,’ I don’t believe that for a second,” Carlson declared.

Cuomo questioned why his guest hadn’t contacted President Trump and inquired as to why Sen. Cotton would be obstructing his nominee.

 

“I haven’t. I haven’t asked,” Carlson said about speaking with Cotton. “I’d like to… I’m not sure he’ll sit down and do an interview with me.”

Cotton, the chair of the Senate intelligence committee, quickly shot back that Carlson “knows how to reach me” and hasn’t followed to up to ask him about the secondhand story.

 

“This is false. I have no problem releasing the ‘JFK files.’ Had @tuckercarlson asked me, I would’ve told him,” Cotton wrote on X. “He has texted me multiple times in recent weeks, so he knows how to reach me.”


He continued: “I would’ve explained that I’ve never spoken to President Trump or his associates or administration officials about the files, never objected to the appointment of any person because of the files, and have complete faith that Tulsi Gabbard, John Ratcliffe, Pam Bondi, Kash Patel, and other officials will release the files as appropriate in accordance with President Trump’s directive.”

 

Cotton has already protested President Trump’s decision to remove security details for a number of former first-administration officials, including former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, former National Security Advisor John Bolton, and his senior adviser Brian Hook, according to the AP, despite his assurances. According to the Republican from Arkansas, the president’s choice may make it more difficult for members of the intelligence community to collaborate with him during his second term.

 

“It’s also about the president being able to get good people and get good advice,” Cotton said. “They might hesitate to do so, or they might hesitate if they’re in office to give him the advice he needs to carry out the policies that he decides upon.”

King Charles:

The US president has been feuding with the Ukrainian leader over military aid and peace talks with Russia


US President Donald Trump was irritated by a meeting between Britain’s King Charles III and Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky, the Daily Mail claimed on Sunday, citing diplomatic sources in Washington. 

Zelensky met with the king in his Sandringham residence in western England on March 2, just days after the Ukrainian leader’s public spat with Trump in the Oval Office.

 

“Things definitely went a bit cool in Washington after Sandringham. We told them that the king makes his own decisions about who he meets,” the Daily Mail quoted “a well-placed source” as saying. 

People close to Trump reportedly conveyed to UK officials that photos of the king with Zelensky made him feel “less special” about Charles’ invitation for a second state visit to Britain. UK officials responded by arguing that it would have been inappropriate for the government to “direct” the king not to meet with Zelensky, according to the Daily Mail.

 

A UK government spokesman has denied that there has been a row. “We do not recognize these reports. We have been unequivocal about the importance of the US as an ally of the UK,” the spokesman said.

 

Prime Minister Keir Starmer presented a letter from the king to Trump during a meeting in the White House last month. “This is really special. This has never happened before. Unprecedented,” Starmer told the president. Trump has accepted the invitation. In 2019, he conducted a three-day state visit in the UK and met with the late Queen Elizabeth II, as well as with Charles, who was then the heir to the throne. 

 

Trump has accused Zelensky of acting disrespectfully and being ungrateful for American military aid. He further claimed that Zelensky was not willing to make peace with Russia and was sabotaging his efforts to broker a ceasefire.

Last week, Trump halted the deliveries of weapons to Ukraine, saying that Kiev must show more commitment to peace talks.

Judicial Watch announced today that it filed a petition for a writ of certiorari in the United States Supreme Court concerning a Judicial Watch lawsuit asserting that the California Secretary of State retaliated against Judicial Watch because of an accurate election integrity video posted to YouTube just before the 2020 Election.

 

Judicial Watch explains that the NVRA was intended both to “increase the number of eligible citizens who register” and “to protect the integrity of the electoral process’ and ‘ensure that accurate and current voter registration rolls are maintained.” It requires states to maintain “for at least 2 years” and “make available for public inspection” all records concerning the implementation of programs conducted for ensuring the accuracy of voter rolls.

Astronaut who’s stranded in space says it’s true that Elon offered to rescue them earlier. Biden didn’t accept for political purposes.

Barry "Butch" Wilmore, one of the astronauts stranded at the International Space Station, said statements from SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk suggesting that former President Joe Biden declined to rescue them are factual — although he admitted he did not know the nature of the closed-door discussions. 

 

Wilmore and fellow astronaut Suni Williams launched from their Boeing Starliner spacecraft in June 2024 for a mission set to last only eight days. However, after the spacecraft encountered technical issues, and NASA determined it unsafe for it to arrive back to Earth with the astronauts on board, Wilmore and Williams have remained stuck at the International Space Station for months. 

 

Wilmore said he trusts Musk, who previously told Fox News’ Sean Hannity on Feb. 18 that Biden left the astronauts in space for "political reasons." 

 

"I can only say that Mr. Musk, what he says, is absolutely factual … I believe him," Wilmore said Tuesday during an in-orbit press conference, according to the New York Post.  

Even so, Wilmore later admitted that he had no first-hand knowledge of any talks that occurred to secure their rescue.

March Prayer Letter and Transition Letter:


PRAYER LETTER:

Fushime means a “turning point in life”, literally, the joints between daily 30cm growth spurts of bamboo. March 11th is the 14th anniversary of the Tohoku/Fukushima Earthquake. It changed our lives. Kath was swimming in a nearby pool and was spared injury while others suffered broken bones and one man died when the pool’s glass ceiling fell into the pool.

 

      We have reached a less dramatic turning point in our journey, which began with our appointment with Fellowship International in 1992, and after over half our lives here have decided to make a big change. As the attached letter from The Fellowship explains, we will return to Canada toward the end of 2025, and spend a few months visiting our supporting friends and churches into 2026,

 

but we are still in Japan, so please keep in mind the following things for your prayers. 

     Rob preaches monthly in 5 small Japanese churches. This will be difficult to give up as most of these churches have no pastor and average 20 believers. There will be an adjustment for both Rob, the  churches, and leaders he has been mentoring.


The Lord has opened many interesting conversations for Kathryn recently. While enjoying a quiet morning at the park, an elderly gentleman asked if he could sit with Kathryn. After a little small talk, he started to talk about Jesus. He insisted that Jesus is a lie. Kathryn gently led him through the story of creation to Christ. He was not opposed to listening to Kath read scripture with him.


     While outside a church after Rob preached recently, an older man who attends the service weekly stopped to tell Kathryn that he could not believe in Jesus. After listening to his story, Kath prayed with him that God would reveal Jesus to him.

 Our lives are a Christ-like fragrance rising up to God. But this fragrance is perceived differently by those who are being saved and by those who are perishing. 2 Cor. 2:15


Please pray for Mrs. K from that same pool, who says she is “sort of” a Christian. God is at work and Kath has enjoyed spiritual conversations about growth with her.

   

Please continue to pray for our neighbour Y, who recently came to faith and wants to tell her family about Jesus. Pray for open doors and as she “Seeking guidance from God by faith.”  Building trusting relationships in Japan takes time and Kath and Y have been enjoying meeting together for four years.


Thank you for your generous support and prayers. We are experiencing various emotions as we anticipate leaving Japan. We will keep you updated as plans unfold.

After 32 years of faithful service with Fellowship International, Rob and Kathryn Fleming have been led to

finish their missionary work in Japan. Having dedicated more than half of their lives to sharing the gospel in

Japan—often referred to as “the graveyard of missionaries”—they have persevered by God’s grace. Their

ministry has borne fruit, and we rejoice in the lives they have touched and the souls they have helped lead

to Christ.

 

Rob and Kathryn want to share their plans with you well in advance so that you can join them in prayer

during this transition. As they prepare to conclude their work in Japan and return to Canada by the end of

2025, they hope to visit many of you who have been partnering with them in 2026.

 

Please continue to pray for them as Kathryn is seeking to use her gifting on Fellowship International’s peer

care team while Rob has been led to conclude his missionary work by summer 2026.
