Special Counsel's Office leaks Pence considered not attending Jan. 6 Certification as it would be 'too hurtful' to his 'Friend' Trump:
Former Vice President Mike Pence had a falling out with former President Donald Trump on Jan. 6, 2021, and since that time, Pence has reportedly become a top source and possible star witness for Special Counsel Jack Smith's criminal prosecution of Trump in relation to his efforts to challenge the disputed results of the 2020 election.
It has now been revealed through leaks from the special counsel's office that Pence initially wavered and almost didn't participate in the Jan. 6 congressional certification of the 2020 election because doing so might prove to be "too hurtful to my friend," according to Rolling Stone.
That revelation purportedly came from the contemporaneous notes written by Pence prior to the Jan. 6 event that were turned over to prosecutors as part of the investigation.

ABC News reported that anonymous sources "familiar" with Special Counsel Smith's probe as it relates to former VP Pence have shared numerous details about Pence's interviews with prosecutors as a presumptive cooperating witness against former President Trump.
One aspect of that was Pence's notes that seemingly documented the unraveling of his once-close friendship with Trump during the period between the Nov. 2020 election and the Jan. 2021 certification, in which Pence declined to reject the electors from certain states in which the reported outcome of the election was in dispute.
Per the sources, one such note was written around Christmas 2020 and stated, "Not feeling like I should attend electoral count," in reference to the Jan. congressional certification, as there were "Too many questions, too many doubts, too hurtful to my friend. Therefore I'm not going to participate in certification of election."
However, the sources also indicated that Pence told investigators that he had decided to participate in the event after his U.S. Marine son had reminded him of his oath of office, and Pence reportedly further insisted to prosecutors that he had always remained loyal to Trump and said, "My only higher loyalty was to God and the Constitution."
Prosecutors reportedly readying Pence to be star witness against Trump
Given his reported cooperation, it is perhaps a bit surprising that the ABC News report also mentioned that its sources said that prosecutors have sharply pressed former VP Pence over various inconsistencies between his interview responses and prior public comments, contemporaneous notes, and anecdotes within his 2022 memoir "So Help Me God."
That pressure reportedly included quibbling over the placement of punctuation marks in certain passages that might change the interpreted meaning of the sentences.
In all likelihood, however, that is part of the effort by prosecutors to ensure that Pence's potential testimony at trial matches up with his prior commentary, given the reported strong possibility that he will be called to the stand to speak out against his former boss and friend.
Trump implies prosecutors coerced Pence's cooperation with threat of criminal charges
To be sure, former President Trump's defense team is keenly aware of the possibility that former VP Pence may be called to the stand to testify during the trial, as evidenced by a direct mention of Pence in the recent filing of a motion to compel discovery.
That 37-page filing essentially accused Special Counsel Smith's prosecutorial team of slow-walking or withholding from discovery various documents and evidence that could be exculpatory and "favorable" to Trump's defense, as is required by certain Supreme Court precedence and rules, including any and all relevant information related to Pence's "unauthorized retention of classified documents" at his Indiana home, for which he faces no charges.
"Under Brady and Giglio, the Special Counsel’s Office has an obligation to collect and produce this impeachment information bearing on Pence’s credibility and bias, and the Office is currently in violation of its obligation to do so 'as soon as reasonably possible,'" Trump's lawyers wrote.
"The potential criminal charges faced by Vice President Pence gave him an incentive to curry favor with authorities by providing information that is consistent with the Biden Administration’s preferred, and false, narrative regarding this case," the filing added. "Accordingly, the Special Counsel’s Office must collect and disclose information maintained by the National Security Division and the FBI related to the Pence investigation, the 'negotiations' relating to the FBI’s search, and the decision not to bring charges."

The details about the murder of Seth Rich, a Democratic National Committee worker shot and killed as he walked to his Washington, D.C., home in 2016, remain clouded in mystery.
Police claimed it was a robbery gone bad but his wallet was untouched, and he was shot in the back.
WND columnist Jack Cashill has documented that it just may have been Rich who downloaded DNC details to give to muckracker Julian Assange to post at WikiLeaks on the internet at the time.
Investigator Ty Clevenger also had revealed that the FBI has Rich's personal and work computers, and officials at the investigation team have asked for permission to release those details – over 66 years.
But that apparently iwhos about to change.
The Gateway Pundit reports a federal judge has ruled the FBI must turn over evidence regarding Rich's murder.
The report noted that the FBI has been "attempting to bury the information on Seth Rich for 66 years."
But now Judge Amos L. Mazzant ruled the FBI must have a plan to hand over Rich’s personal laptop, work laptop, a DVD, and thumb drive within 14 days.
The documents show Mazzant ruled, "A timeline for the disclosure of information on Seth Rich’s personal laptop, Seth Rich’s work laptop, the DVD and tape drive within 14 days following the issuance of this Memorandum of Opinion and Order."
The report explained, "Attorney Ty Clevenger is the bulldog attorney who has been after the DOJ and FBI for years to get to the bottom of who supplied the DNC and [former DNC chair John] Podesta’s emails to WikiLeaks during the 2016 election."
It continued, "This was always the key to the Russia collusion nightmare. If Russia didn’t supply emails to WikiLeaks (the FBI has never asked WikiLeaks who supplied the emails by the way) then the Russia collusion story was built on a lie.
"After years of denying they had anything related to Seth Rich, the FBI and DOJ were caught lying over and over again. In September, a judge finally demanded the FBI and DOJ provide all they had in regard to Seth Rich and the FBI responded requesting another 66 years before releasing the information."
Social media explained, "Seth Rich is the guy that was murdered because he most likely had incriminating information on many Democrats."
The FBI's demand for 66 years to provide information about Rich's mysterious demise came just a year ago.
He was found with evidence of a struggle, his hands, knees and face bruised, with two shots in the back. His wallet and other valuables were untouched.
Two weeks later, WikiLeaks began releasing DNC emails damaging to Hillary Clinton, and Assange mentioned Rich on Dutch TV: "Whistleblowers go to significant efforts to get us material and often very significant risks. There's a 27-year-old, works for the DNC, was shot in the back, murdered just a few weeks ago for unknown reasons as he was walking down the street in Washington," he said.
Mike Huckabee, the former governor of Arkansas, openly wondered why "does FBI want Seth Rich records sealed for 66 years?"
"Since his shooting occurred soon after then-DNC chair John Podesta’s emails — quite damaging to the DNC and Hillary — were leaked to WikiLeaks, there was speculation that Rich, reportedly a Bernie Sanders supporter, might’ve been the real source of those leaks. Gee, it might not have been a Russian hack at all; we certainly have never seen proof that it was. Didn’t matter; the 'Russian DNC hack' narrative was the wellspring for the whole Russia Hoax. Take away the 'Russian hack,' and it all falls apart," he wrote.
Clevenger, representing client Brian Huddleston, was first told by the FBI it had no records. Then the FBI admitted it had thousands of documents.
WND had reported earlier that among the heavily redacted documents the FBI did release was a cryptic "pay for his death" reference.
At the time, One America News reported the FBI's release of records in response to a Freedom of Information Act request "appear to show that an undisclosed entity either wanted to pay or actually paid a lot of money to get Seth Rich killed."
An FBI document dated Nov. 7, 2017, states: "Given [redacted] it is conceivable that an individual or group would want to pay for his death."

During a hearing on November 30, the Supreme Court of Russia approved a petition, made by the Ministry of Justice earlier in the month, to consider the movement one of extremism and therefore prohibit its formal actions from taking place in the nation.
Though the specific acts that are included in the Ministry’s designation of “international LGBT social movement” are unclear, the ruling of the Supreme Court presumably opens the door for LGBT organizations to be shut down and their leaders and members to be scrutinized by law enforcement.

OTTAWA, Ontario (LifeSiteNews) — An Ottawa conference center has canceled a forthcoming conservative conference featuring student activist Josh Alexander, claiming that the speakers promoted “hate speech.”
On November 28, the Ottawa Conference and Event Centre refused to rent space to Trinity Productions, an organization which brings pro-freedom speakers to Canada.
“At the time of your booking, there was no disclosure to OCEC of the nature of the event Trinity Productions intended to hold at our conference centre,” read the notice published on X, formerly known as Twitter, by Tammy Peterson, wife of prominent Canadian psychologist Jordan Peterson.
“Today, it has been brought to our attention that your event features two speakers, Christine Anderson and Eva Vlaardingerbroek commonly associated with hate speech and beliefs that are antithetical and completely unwelcome to OCEC, its management, employees and others who use our Conference and Event Centre,” it continued.
“In these circumstances, we are terminating the Function Agreement for Booking: 39278 and shall return your deposit in the amount of $5,844.22,” the notice concluded.
