NOW WHAT?

 

This month, I'm writing a "Now What?" letter, or Editorial if you prefer, instead of the usual promotional Newsletter for the Trading Post.  

 

 It's "Now What?" because we can't say for sure what's going to happen to national supply lines.  

 

 We see your interest in trading has dropped, while "like-minded" groups are showing increasing interest in getting together to learn about special subjects such as alternatives to cell-phones, grocery stores, banks, and hydro power.

 

 And to top it off, Don Brooks, Patrice Gallen, our advisory team and I are ready to launch a new faith-based Private Membership Association which will be a "closed" private club requiring lessons to join.

 

So come out this Saturday (the second Saturday of the month) between 10-12 am (arrive early or stay after if you want).

 

Talk to us about what's happening locally and internationally.  With help from our on-line friends, we scan dozens of different kinds of news sources every single day and participate in many "like-minded" groups to keep a finger in what's happening locally.  Some of them want to make presentations to us.  Do you have a group that would like to come and use part of the hall or part of the time we're there?

Dead Faith = a Dead World:

I drove from bible study this morning listening to the conservative talk show host on 980 AM radio (9-12 am), and I heard callers from Toronto, Hamilton and London describing a breakdown of confidence in the police, school boards and more.  I thought to myself, "our delicate infrastructure was created by people of faith, hope and charity. 

 

Without that kind of a society nothing works by itself."  Artificial Intelligence cannot not help.  It can only make things way worse.  Seems I am not the only one thinking these thoughts.

 

The Patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church said,  “If humanity loses religious faith, particularly in the context of the growth of technologies associated with the emergence of artificial intelligence, then we are truly entering the era of the Apocalypse,” the Patriarch said.

 

In 2023, a group of industry leaders, including from OpenAI, Google DeepMind, Anthropic and others, warned that the technology they are developing might one day pose an existential threat to humanity and could be as deadly as pandemics and nuclear weapons.

This year, 20,000 illegal immigrants have crossed ports of entry between the US and Canada, which is a 95% increase over the previous fiscal year.

Canada must look pretty bad if New York looks good to them!

For the last year and a half, the number of illegal border crossings from Canada has skyrocketed, but about 60% of these illegal immigrants are from India.

 

Obviously, this number only includes the number of people that have been caught.
