Jack Smith is under a white-hot spotlight for his witch hunt against Donald Trump.

Now the Justice Department is in the hot seat over his rogue investigation.

Attorney General Merrick Garland testified before the House Judiciary Committee in an explosive hearing.


He was grilled over the weaponization of the federal government against former President Donald Trump.

Representative Thomas Massie (R-KY) had the Attorney General on his heels over whether Special Counsel Jack Smith’s appointment was constitutional.

 

“What gives you the authority to appoint a special counsel to create…you’ve created an office in the U.S. government that does not exist without authorization from Congress,” Massie asked.

The Kentucky lawmaker referenced a legal argument made by former Reagan Attorney General Edwin Meese and conservative legal scholars that Garland’s appointment of Smith to be Special Counsel was unconstitutional.

U.S. Attorneys are normally appointed to serve as Special Counsels who are subject to confirmation by the Senate.

 

Smith – a former Obama Justice Department official – was a private citizen when Garland appointed him to serve as Special Counsel.

The vast powers of the Special Counsel’s office means that Smith is subject to the Constitution’s appointment clause.

Meese filed amicus briefs with federal courts arguing that Smith’s appointment was unconstitutional and that he should be removed.

“Not clothed in the authority of the federal government, Smith is a modern example of the naked emperor,” Meese’s brief states. “Improperly appointed, he has no more authority to represent the United States in this Court than Bryce Harper, Taylor Swift, or Jeff Bezos.”

 

Massie cited Meese’s work to Garland which put him on his heels.

“There are regulations under which the Attorney General appoint Special Counsel, they have been in effect for 30 years, maybe longer, under both parties. The matter that you’re talking about, about whether somebody can have an employee of the Justice Department serve as special counsel has been adjudicated,” Garland said.

But the regulations he pointed to don’t authorize the appointment of a private citizen to be Special Counsel.

 

“It seems like you’ve created an office that would require an act of Congress, yet there’s not an act of Congress that authorizes that,” Massie said. “And even if it didn’t require an act of Congress, and you’ve already admitted that there was no act of Congress that established this office, it would still require, according to the Constitution, a nomination by the President and confirmation by the Senate.”

 

Jack Smith was appointed to serve as Special Counsel against Donald Trump because he’s a political hack who confirmed during the Obama administration that he’d twist the law to help the Democrat Party.

He had a corruption conviction against former Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell (R) overturned by the Supreme Court in a unanimous 2015 decision.

 

Judge Aileen Cannon, who is presiding over Trump’s classified documents case, agreed to a hearing over the constitutionality of Smith’s appointment.

As President Biden has officially thrown in the towel with a surprising statement.

Overshadowed by the news of former President Donald Trump’s “guilty” verdict was the news that there is supposedly a ton of work done for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas that the United States has been eyeing closely over the past several months.

The only problem is that the Biden administration may be supporting a short-sighted ceasefire that will only end up backfiring on America and her ally in Israel when Hamas recoup’s their military strength.

 

 

Biden’s Gaza Ceasefire Proposal: Potential Risks and Reactions

President Joe Biden’s latest proposal for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza has sparked significant debate among defense experts and former U.S. officials. According to these analysts, the plan might inadvertently provide Hamas with the opportunity to regroup and potentially stage future attacks similar to the deadly assault on Israel that occurred on October 7.

 

In recent months, Israel, the United States, and international negotiators have been working towards a temporary ceasefire with Hamas. This agreement aims to secure the release of hostages held by the terrorist group and deliver aid to Gaza. However, Biden recently presented what he described as a new Israeli proposal for a permanent ceasefire, intended to fully end the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict.

“Israel has offered a comprehensive new proposal,” Biden announced. “It’s a roadmap to an enduring ceasefire and the release of all hostages.”

Despite this optimistic presentation, experts express concerns that a permanent ceasefire at this stage could allow Hamas, which has not been completely defeated, to reorganize and rearm. David Daoud, a senior fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, emphasized the risks: “If this war ends now and Israeli forces withdraw… the nucleus of Hamas’ presence remains, and that is going to allow the group to rearm.”

Casualty Estimates and Strategic Considerations

Estimating the impact of the conflict, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reported that the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have killed over 14,000 Hamas fighters since the war began on October 7. Initially, Hamas had around 30,000 fighters distributed across Gaza. Despite these losses, many Hamas fighters remain in the southern region of Rafah, where significant clashes continue.

 

The Biden administration, alongside the international community, has urged Israel to avoid a full ground assault in Rafah due to the potential civilian impact. Biden believes that Hamas has been sufficiently weakened, reducing the need for large-scale military operations. “At this point, Hamas no longer is capable of carrying out another Oct. 7,” Biden stated, although he acknowledged that some Israeli officials disagree.

 

Gabriel Noronha, executive director of Polaris National Security, criticized Biden’s approach, comparing it to the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan. Noronha argued that Biden’s plan is driven by political timelines rather than the actual conditions on the ground, risking a repeat of the situation where terrorist groups regained strength after U.S. withdrawal.

 

Moreover, there appears to be some confusion over the exact nature of the proposal Biden presented. Netanyahu’s office clarified that Israel’s actual proposal requires the “destruction” of Hamas before any permanent ceasefire. Michael Bars, a former White House communications advisor, suggested that Biden’s administration might be misinterpreting the Israeli plan to favor a permanent ceasefire, possibly influenced by domestic political pressures.


Biden’s handling of the Israel-Hamas conflict has affected his domestic political standing, particularly among Muslim communities and groups critical of his approach. In key battleground states like Michigan, with substantial Arab populations, Biden’s approval ratings on this issue are notably low. A Yahoo/YouGov poll from May indicated that only 26% of voters approved of his performance in the conflict, while 60% disapproved.

 

David Daoud underscored the improbability of a lasting peace agreement with Hamas: “Hamas is ideologically committed to Israel’s destruction. There is no possibility that, as long as Hamas exists, a permanent ceasefire between Israel and Gaza will ever exist.”


While Biden’s ceasefire proposal aims to end the ongoing violence, experts warn that it may not eliminate the long-term threat posed by Hamas. The debate highlights the complex dynamics and potential consequences of seeking a diplomatic resolution in the midst of an enduring and deeply entrenched conflict.

Trump Demands Jack Smith Be Arrested Immediately After Alarming Find:

 

Following an astonishing disclosure in a court document, former President Donald Trump put pressure on Joe Biden’s Justice Department to file a lawsuit against Special Counsel Jack Smith.

 

Trump became enraged when Smith’s attorneys revealed to U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon, who is presiding over the secret materials case, that certain evidence was no longer in its “original, intact” condition.

On his social media site, Truth Social, Trump wrote: “Arrest deranged Jack Smith. He is a criminal,” after Smith’s prosecutors told Cannon that some boxes’ “order of items within that box is not the same” as they appear in digital scans of materials after the FBI retrieved them from Trump’s Florida resort in August 2022, Trump wrote in all caps, “He is a criminal,” on Truth Social in one of several posts he made over the weekend.

 

This declaration is “inconsistent,” according to Smith’s office, with what the government had previously told the court. At first, they claimed that the only changes were the replacement of some classified papers with placeholders and the removal of others.

Defendant Walt Nauta’s request for more time to ascertain the contents and arrangement of the confiscated documents was addressed in the submission. It indicated precisely which documents belonged in which boxes and in what order within those boxes. Legal experts have noticed that there is a problem with Smith’s petition because the sequence of the boxes now differs from earlier scans of them.

 

“Since the boxes were seized and stored, appropriate personnel have had access to the boxes for several reasons, including to comply with orders issued by this Court in the civil proceedings noted above, for investigative purposes, and to facilitate the defendants’ review of the boxes,” the Justice Department prosecutors wrote.

“There are some boxes where the order of items within that box is not the same as in the associated scans,” the document said.

 

Prosecutors for Smith later acknowledged their deceit to the court.

“The Government acknowledges that this is inconsistent with what Government counsel previously understood and represented to the Court,” the document said.

“There are several possible explanations, including the above-described instances in which the boxes were accessed, as well as the size and shape of certain items in the boxes possibly leading to movement of items,” the filing said.

“For example, the boxes contain items smaller than standard paper such as index cards, books, and stationary, which shift easily when the boxes are carried, especially because many of the boxes are not full,” prosecutors wrote.

 

The information, nevertheless, is a crucial component of the prosecution’s case against Trump, who is the first elected official or past president to be accused of having secret records. According to legal experts cited by the Western Journal, part of Trump’s case is anticipated to center on the fact that documents were filed chronologically without any consideration for classification markings.

 

“Legal experts told Just the News the revelation could prove to be a serious problem for prosecutors and a violation of court rules to preserve evidence in the state it was seized,” Just the News added.

In another Truth Social post, Trump wrote: “It has always been clear that the ‘Documents Case’ is nothing but an Election Interference Scam concocted by Crooked Joe Biden, Deranged Jack Smith, and their Hacks and Thugs,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post.

“Now, Deranged Jack has admitted in a filing in front of Judge Cannon to what I have been saying happened since the Illegal RAID on my home, Mar-a-Lago, in Palm Beach, Florida — That he and his team committed blatant Evidence Tampering by mishandling the very Boxes they used as a pretext to bring this Fake Case.

White House Under Siege – Secret Service Forced to Retract:

On Saturday afternoon, a sizable contingent of pro-Palestine demonstrators surrounded the White House and proceeded to detonate smoke bombs and flares within the building.

 

Chanting “ceasefire now,” as has become customary since the October 7 bombings, protestors charged the Biden Administration with complicity in genocide. Since the attacks, protestors have broken through the outer gates of the White House compound a few times and clashed with law enforcement.

A sizable contingent of protestors dressed in Palestinian flags are gathered outside the main White House entrance in footage from Saturday’s demonstrations that was taken by on-the-ground reporter Oliya Scootercaster. Flares and smoke bombs were being set off by protesters, which prompted D.C. Park Police and Secret Service agents to respond immediately.

 

The White House is currently “completely surrounded” by demonstrators brandishing a large red banner, which is supposed to represent their “red line,” according to a follow-up post by Scootercaster. When both sides of the line connected at the southwest corner of the White House compound, protesters let out loud applause.

The majority of protesters were chanting “hold the red line” and “free, free Palestine” while donning red shirts.

“You better run, we got the guillotine,” one protestor carried a banner.

Video taken by reporter Ford Fischer on the scene shows D.C. Metro Police stifling the demonstrations at Penn Avenue, just in front of Freedom Plaza, the destination of the annual D.C. Pride March that is scheduled to conclude in a few hours.

 

Another video that reporter Julio Rosas of Blaze Media posted showed the moment that a crowd of demonstrators drove Park Police and Secret Service agents from Lafayette Square after they allegedly attempted to make an arrest.

When police officers were leaving, the mob could be heard yelling, “f**k the police.” When police tried to stop graffiti on sculptures, several protestors threw rocks and other objects at them... See VIDEOs at above LINK

Rosas stated that neither the park nor the protest’s perimeter are now occupied by police.

Because to the Democratic Party’s backing of Israel and its military actions in the Gaza Strip, President Biden and his Democratic allies have encountered strong opposition from demonstrators who are pro-Palestine.

 

Numerous protest ballots have been cast in several primary states, including Minnesota, New Jersey, Michigan, and others, in response to Biden’s support for Israel.

Many progressive voters have sworn to abstain from supporting Biden in November, while others have thrown their support behind “uncommitted” campaigns or write-in candidates.
