Why did I create SpeakNow Canada?

Throughout much of my life, I was not as politically aware or engaged as I now wish I were. Raising a family and being all, I needed to be for them and my friends made my focus small and insular.  I engaged a bit during election seasons, always voted, and then presumed I had done all I could do to be a part of Canada’s plans and agendas for my future as a Canadian.


​When COVID first began to be talked about I presumed it would be like SARS or other viruses that had raised alarms globally throughout my life and I didn’t take it seriously.  Then while watching the Edmonton Oilers play one night, it was announced that this would probably be the last game for a short while as the virus needed to be given time to pass. Then I started to get more curious and concerned.


Over the next many months, I listened to all the government’s briefings on the seriousness of the virus, and that we needed to do our part to not overwhelm the healthcare system, and I fully complied. Whatever they asked of me I followed. I felt rebellious that first Easter, I hadn’t seen my children or grandchildren in months, so I made a big turkey dinner divided it into family packs and delivered it to my children’s homes visiting with them for a few minutes keeping my distance. 


I was the personal caregiver for my brother who was suffering from early onset Alzheimer’s and with the information I was hearing I could unknowingly give him this terrifying virus and due to his frailty, I could kill him if I unknowingly was infected. I began to think that the only way I would ever feel safe was when a vaccine was available to me, and I could then be around people and trust I wouldn’t die, and I wouldn’t kill others. I was completely sold on it all.


There were a lot of announcements and restrictions put in place that didn’t make sense, but I followed anyway, hoping that whatever they were asking of us would lead to the end of this nightmare.


​Then the vaccine rolled out. I had many friends opposed to it being it was rushed and even 2 of my children didn’t want to get it. I am so grateful I didn’t shun or criticize them. I believed fully that I would then be safe to be around the vaccinated and the unvaccinated alike. The first shot left me with a sore arm but overall, I felt ok.  When I received the second shot, I got quite sick for a few days. I then knew that I wouldn’t be taking another.


In my mind, the isolation from people was now over for me. I started seeing more of my family and friends and hoped that life would return to normal. But it didn’t. The restrictions and mandates continued. My 2 daughters who hadn’t wanted the shot succumbed to getting it as their ability to participate in life was made impossible. They needed a health passport on their phones to do almost anything.


Going into the fall and winter of 2021 was a very dark time for me. The on-again off-again isolation and fear and confusion were messing my mental well-being completely. Working on a balance between anxiety and depression took all the energy I had. I worked from home and slept a lot.


​Then in January 2022, I began to hear the first rumblings of a protest coming from truckers. At first, I thought this was a rebellion. I wasn’t surprised that people were feeling frustrated, I knew where I was at emotionally, but I didn’t know what to make of this uprising. It took me a week or more to have my curiosity overtake my fear and then I became engrossed in all of it.  I started to hear things from these brave souls that I hadn’t heard before. The suffering that Canadians had endured from job losses to jab injuries to loss of relationships and families being torn apart blew my mind. I hadn’t known.


Slowly over the next couple of weeks following the convoy and seeing Canadians pour out in the thousands to support and add their voice to the demands for change started to fill me with hope pride and excitement in being a member of a great country again. I learned so much from so many about the blatant infringements on our rights and privacy that had been forced on us by the federal, provincial, and municipal governments and by all the governmental institutions and businesses.


I had felt the hypocrisy in allowing the big box, liquor, and convenience stores to remain open and the individually owned businesses to be shut down, but I hadn’t known the devastation that befell thousands of businesses across Canada.

​Over the next few weeks, I felt like I was having my brain completely rewired by a thousand electricians. I was reminded of my rights that Canada has a constitution and that much of the pandemic process had violated and hurt millions of Canadians' lives.


I also firmly believe that with this mass of people standing up for what had been done wrong, the governments would surely hear and change course and work towards helping everyone get back to the normal I thought we had before this reported pandemic.


But all that was being heard from the government were insults, threats, and lies. I was utterly shocked. I hadn’t felt that my trust and expectations in the government had been too high, but they were higher than they should have been. I had always presumed that the government served the people. I knew sometimes they made terrible decisions and implemented laws and regulations that I did not agree with, but I still believed that they would change course when enough people opposed them.


​My disillusionment was more than I could contain when instead of attempting to work with Canadians to find solutions regarding the laws and mandates that were too restrictive, the government chose to enact the Emergencies Act.  This was the biggest slap in the face that I ever personally felt. Law-abiding faithful Canadians were now being charged as criminals and abused in a way only ever seen in other countries and regimes. I was devastated.


As I watched the Canadian government turn on its citizens, I was overwhelmed by the injustice I saw in it all. I wanted to do something, but I didn’t have a clue what I, one person could do. All I could think of was to write to the entire government and implore them to end this nightmare and remember that they were elected to serve not to dominate their constituents.


So, during Question Period in the House of Commons, I went on my computer and opened the Members of Parliament contact page, drafted a letter and proceeded to copy each MP’s email address and pasted it into individual emails then wrote a subject line and then pasted my letter…. I did this for hours. Later that afternoon an announcement was made that Prime Minister Trudeau was calling off the Emergency Act enactment, which of course I was happy about, but when I looked at the progress, I had made on my email journey I had only written to about 250 of the 338 Members of Parliament.


I chose to end this exercise as the debate was over and the sentiments, I was sending now felt mute. Somehow this made me feel like I had failed.

​Over the next many months, I attempted to move on in life. I went back to working, spending time with family and friends and trying to lay it all down.  But seeing Canadians forced to retreat in shame and many being charged and fined for being part of this cry for justice wouldn’t leave me.  I believe that if provided an opportunity Canadians would still want their voices to be heard.


This is when the idea of SpeakNow Canada started to form. The government made it clear that it won’t listen to protestors, but they do accept being communicated with by mail or email. I dreamt of all the Canadians who tried to be heard by standing on highways or driving through the country beginning to speak to the government in a manner that was acceptable to them. This led me on a two-year journey to create a platform to allow for just that.


My Take…

I met Ann Rush at one of my Live Events and we talked about the platform she created, that would allow Canadians to easily contact their political representatives.

I thought it was a fantastic idea.

Fani Willis's Daughter Arrested, Fani Willis Arrived at Scene With "Ex-Lover" Nathan Wade Appears:

In an unexpected incident, Kinaya Willis, daughter of Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, was arrested for driving with a suspended license during a routine traffic stop in Tyrone, Georgia.

The New York Sun reported that Kinaya Willis now faces misdemeanor charges stemming from this unforeseen traffic stop. The chain of events started when Kinaya was pulled over for using a cellphone while driving on August 24.

This infraction led to a police check that revealed her license had been suspended since May 13.

Surprised by the discovery, Kinaya claimed she was previously unaware of the suspension.

 

Intervention by Fulton County DA

As the situation escalated, Fani Willis came to the scene shortly after her daughter was detained to take care of the vehicle, driving away the 2010 Nissan Altima.

During this intervention, Fani was accompanied by Nathan Wade, causing some initial confusion about his identity, clarified later by Fani as being just a friend.


Kinaya explained that she answered the phone while driving because her mother, who is pregnant, was calling.

She stressed the urgency of the situation prompted by her mother's condition.

Kinaya was booked into Fayette County Jail, located about 30 minutes from her mother’s office, facing serious consequences if found guilty.

 

These include a minimum of two days in jail, a $500 fine, and an additional six months of suspension on her driver’s license. Her arraignment is set for October 24.

The incident coincides dramatically with former President Donald Trump's mugshot day, which also occurred under Fani Willis’s jurisdiction on the same date, intertwining professional and personal realms for the DA.

The presence of Nathan Wade, who earlier spearheaded Trump’s Georgia election interference case, intensified the public and media scrutiny.

More than 1.7 million therapy logs for US patients are exposed online:

Psychological profiles and therapy sessions for thousands of patients, including 'telehealth' audio and video and even driver's licenses, has leaked to the open web.

Over 1.7 million activity logs, comprised of an estimated 5.3 terabytes of mental health data, were left exposed online by the healthcare start-up Confidant Health.

 

The Austin-based firm — which promised to build 'the next-generation of virtual care' for those seeking addiction treatment and other behavioral therapies — had left its patients' confidential information exposed via a 'non-password-protected database.'

 

The severe privacy lapse comes amid a summer of catastrophic leaks, including July's Independence Day 'RockYou2024,' which exposed an astonishing 10 billion passwords to cyber criminals, and a massive breach of US social security numbers.

Since its founding in 2018, Confidant Health's app, which is available via iOS and Android, has been downloaded over 10,000 in the Google Play Store.


The company currently offers clinical services to patients in Connecticut, New Hampshire, Virginia, Texas, and Florida.



For reasons of professional ethics, Fowler said that he did not download any of the private medical information. He also did not attempt to access the password-protected databases but noted that a dedicated hacker would make short work of it.

'Cyber criminals have a range of tools at their disposal including brute force attacks and social engineering attempts that could potentially result in unauthorized access to those protected files and documents,' the researcher explained. 

 

Fowler reported that he observed publicly visible patient documents that were clearly psychotherapy intake notes, assessments that detailed medical professional's opinions on patients' mental health, substance abuse, family issues, psychiatric history and more.

 

But that private medical data was just one facet of breach: many other files also included records stored for administrative and verification purposes, like driver's licenses, state-issued ID cards and insurance cards.

According to Fowler, the million-plus logs in the leak indicated that some of the above data had been collected by Confident Health's proprietary chatbots and its artificial intelligence, features that the company has long touted in the press.

 

'A data-centric environment like the one we are constructing lends itself to leveraging AI [artificial intelligence] to make predictive suggestions,' Confident's co-founder Sam Arsenault Wilson said in a 2022 interview.

'That's where we're headed once the data reaches proper scale,' she said.

The leak also included drug tests, including some with Personally Identifiable Information (PII) of a patient and their positive drug test results — in one case marijuana and alcohol.


Under the US Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), medical professionals, companies and organizations are required to take detailed measures to preserve the privacy of their clients' Protected Health Information (PHI). 

PHI often overlaps with this similar class of data PII, which is protected across myriad industries and government agencies. 

 

'In a random sample I reviewed,' Fowler noted in his report for the security site vpnMentor, 'the open and publicly accessible files [...] contained what could be considered a very serious potential risk to the personal privacy and PII of those individuals.' 

Fowler said he reviewed approximately 1,000 files to verify the extent of the exposure risk and better understand how the lapse had occurred so he could more accurately alert the company, adding: 'I was able to view using only a web browser.'

An exposed database containing both password-protected and unlocked patient data files, or any files, according to Fowler, is unusual.


'Public access to the documents was restricted within hours' of his own direct message to Confident notifying them of the lapse in patient privacy, Fowler said.

 

DailyMail.com has reached out to Confidant Health's co-founder Jon Read via two email addresses for comment, but Read has not yet responded.

But, speaking to WIRED magazine earlier,  the company's co-founder said that he 'take[s] issue with the sensational nature' of Fowler's published findings.

 

After confirming Fowler's own report that the exposure was restricted shortly after the company was notified, Read told WIRED that 'during that time' only 'a small subset of files (less than 1 percent of the total files), could be accessed openly.' 

'These files included documents, such as faxes, as well as synthetic training data.'

'No malicious actors had accessed any patient records,' Read continued, adding that 'no external chatbots or AI interacted with this data.'

 

Read maintained that Confident Health conducted its own internal security audit alongside contracted external experts to confirm the security of its patients' data.

The company's policies have been updated to prevent future exposures, he said.

 

The firm also alerted its customers to the inquiry: 'When we were notified about the improper configuration by a third-party security researcher,' Read said, 'several patient records were accessed by data security personnel.'

'Those patients have been informed that their information was accessed by non-clinical staff,' according to the co-founder.

Harper Betrayed all of us:

 In 2015, Prime Minister Stephen Harper simply stopped appointing new senators, stating that until the Senate was reformed, he would leave the seats open. When Trudeau came to power several months later, that left over 20 empty seats – which he promptly filled.

To date, Justin Trudeau has appointed 86 “independent” senators. There are only 105 senators in the Upper Chamber, meaning that Trudeau has already appointed 81% of the Senate – and appointees’ terms last until age 75.

When Trudeau released an ad attacking Pierre Poilievre on gender ideology – and it is worth noting that the federal Conservatives are to the left of the UK Labour government on the transgender issue – Adler tweeted it out, seething: “Canada’s Conservative leader, who wants to a PM when he grows up, is an impersonation of the moral basement dwellers populating Republican America.”

(LifeSiteNews) — If current polling is any indication, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is set to lose the next federal election to Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre – but he will leave behind a Canada transformed. He will also leave his successor a nasty parting gift: an Upper House stacked to the rafters with progressive idealogues.

Canada’s unelected and unaccountable Senate has long been a target of conservative Canadians. In 2015, Prime Minister Stephen Harper simply stopped appointing new senators, stating that until the Senate was reformed, he would leave the seats open. When Trudeau came to power several months later, that left over 20 empty seats – which he promptly filled.

 

To date, Justin Trudeau has appointed 86 “independent” senators. While the Senate, in theory, is supposed to merely provide a “sober second thought” to the elected House of Commons, in reality, they can refuse to pass any legislation they deem lacking and send it back to the House for revisions. The current Senate is packed with hardcore ideological progressives – it was the Senate, not the House, that called for expanding the euthanasia eligibility requirements to mental illness.

 

Unlike Harper, Justin Trudeau has been very deliberate in who he appoints, both to the judiciary – where he is careful to select pro-abortion judges – and to the Senate. Two of his recent appointments highlight just how extreme his appointments have been. One is the notorious LGBT activist Dr. Kristopher Wells of Alberta. Wells has advocated for shutting down Christian schools that refuse to violate their religious principles by accepting Gay-Straight Alliance Clubs and spearheaded so-called “conversion therapy bans.” When Catholic priest Rev. Jerome Lavigne of Calgary called the rainbow flag a symbol of lawlessness, Wells stated:

 

These kind of comments make it open season on LGBTQ youth, saying it’s OK to openly discriminate against them… These are the kinds of comments that breed hatred, violence and discrimination.

If you are an orthodox Christian in Canada, Wells thinks that expressing your biblical views is declaring “open season” on LGBTQ youth. That view is a feature, not a bug, of Wells’ appointment. The government website announcing his appointment included a laundry list of his activist affiliations:

 

Dr. Kristopher Wells is an educator and a champion for the 2SLGBTQI+ community [sic] who has used research and advocacy to help advance diversity, equity, and human rights in Alberta and across the country… Dr. Wells started his career as a teacher in St. Albert Public Schools, before completing master’s and doctoral degrees focused on sexual and gender diversity in education. He later worked as a diversity consultant for Edmonton Public Schools, where he helped develop the first standalone sexual orientation and gender identity school board policy in Western Canada.

 

From 2012 to 2018, he was Assistant Professor and Faculty Director of the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services at the University of Alberta. He then became MacEwan University’s first Canada Research Chair and served as the founding Director of the MacEwan Centre for Sexual and Gender Diversity.

That’s only a fraction of the citation – the bio goes on to list a half dozen other LGBT activist groups Wells is a member of. A petition has been started to oppose the appointment of Wells – and it includes a significantly different biography:

 

Alberta’s newest Senator is a gender-ideology activist who disapproves of parental rights, compares Christians to Nazi murderers, and is responsible for directing children as young as five to sexually explicit material.

Under Alberta’s NDP Government, Dr. Wells—then affiliated with a group called the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS)—worked as the “driving force” behind the Alberta GSA Network, an initiative directed toward minor children from Kindergarten through Grade 12.

 

The Alberta GSA Network’s website was designed to assist children involved in Gay Straight Alliances at school and featured links to various “community supports.” One such “community support” was Fruit Loop—a Facebook page full of sexually explicit content. In other words, Dr. Wells’s Network allowed children to access graphic sexual material in just two clicks.

 

The material found on the Fruit Loops Facebook page includes articles with instructions on how to reach orgasm, tips on oral sex, and an ad featuring naked people who “share an erotic kiss on a tennis court”—all conveniently available for access by children aged 5 to 17. Dr. Wells shared Fruit Loop’s tennis court post on his own Facebook account, demonstrating that he was well-aware of the graphic content on the Fruit Loop page.

He is also quoted on Twitter/X as stating that “so called ‘parental rights’ are a dog whistle for an explicit anti-2SLGBTQ+ agenda…this is an organized hate movement.”

 

Another of Trudeau’s recent appointments is former radio host Charles Adler, who despises Canadian Christians as much as Wells. Over the past several years in particular, he has spent much time on social media viciously condemning anyone who holds conservative Christian views. When Jason Kenney refused to condemn Christians who opposed the LGBT agenda, for example, Adler insisted he disavow the “knuckle-draggers.”

 

When Trudeau released an ad attacking Pierre Poilievre on gender ideology – and it is worth noting that the federal Conservatives are to the left of the UK Labour government on the transgender issue – Adler tweeted it out, seething: “Canada’s Conservative leader, who wants to a PM when he grows up, is an impersonation of the moral basement dwellers populating Republican America.”

 

Consider: Of just two of Trudeau’s recent senate appointments, one referred to any group that supports parental rights – which would include most of Canada’s conservative churches – as an “organized hate movement,” and the other referred to Canadian Christians as “knuckle-draggers” and “moral basement dwells.”

 

These are the sorts of ideologues Trudeau has been putting in the legislative body of “sober second thought” – which will actually function, in practice, as a cork in the process, preventing the Conservative Party from undoing any of Trudeau’s radical agenda.

 

Poilievre supports – and voted for – legislation banning euthanasia for mental illness. Do you think that will make it through this Senate? Poilievre opposes puberty blockers for kids. If the Conservatives were to put forward the sort of legislation that Danielle Smith has proposed in Alberta, do you think that folks like Kris Wells and Charles Adler wouldn’t do everything in their power to stop it? Of course they would. 

 

That’s why Trudeau put them there – to protect his legacy. Trudeau may lose the next election, but his successors may find themselves running into a brick wall he has spent nearly a decade carefully constructing.

Starliner Mission Returns Without Astronauts After Unexpectedly Extended Trial:

A journey that was intended for astronauts ended silently -- without them -- in the dark early hours at White Sands Space Harbour.

Boeing's Starliner space capsule, dubbed Calypso, finished its unmanned odyssey by touching down successfully after an extended three-month trial due to mechanical issues, as the Evening Standard reports, with the aforementioned NASA astronauts still stranded in space.


The aerospace company's ambitious venture into space travel hit a snag early on when its Starliner capsule encountered critical mechanical problems that extended what was initially a week-long test mission to three months. The capsule, developed under a significant NASA contract worth $4.2 billion, had sky-high expectations to bolster American space travel aspirations.


Despite the challenges, the landing of the Starliner at New Mexico's White Sands at 5:01 a.m. marked a key milestone. NASA mission control painted the event as a success. Brandi Dean, the voice of the mission, expressed relief and satisfaction as Calypso touched down, reaching Earth at speeds 17 times faster than sound.

 

Detailed Technical Challenges Lead to Crew Removal

Originally planned to be a crowning flight with astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams, the Starliner faced setbacks. Complications included helium leaks and thruster malfunctions -- issues deemed too risky for a crewed return. Late in August, a tough decision was made: the astronauts would not return aboard the Starliner.

Wilmore and Williams, meant to be aboard the Calypso for its return, remained at the International Space Station (ISS), reported to be in good spirits despite the change in plans.


This adjustment underscored ongoing issues within NASA’s commercial crew program, as echoed by program manager Steve Stich, who expressed a complex blend of relief and disappointment at the unmanned landing: "From a human perspective, all of us are happy about the successful landing...but then there is a piece of us that wish it would have been the way we planned it," he remarked.

The notable absence of Boeing representatives from the post-landing briefing did not go unnoticed. When queried, NASA official Joel Montalbano mentioned that Boeing had opted to “defer to NASA” to represent the mission post-landing, a move that sparked discussions.
