He is a globalist shill and a Marxist maniac to his core – this is to be sure. However, he has not killed this country, even if he has done his best through his national temper tantrum.

By now you have probably heard that Canada is under a form of emergency legislation. The Emergencies Act has been extended for the month by a vote in Parliament, which was expected due to the dysfunction and partisan foolishness that masquerades as lawmaking these days.

For now, and maybe for a while, Trudeau and his henchmen have taken to freezing bank accounts of financial supporters – so far ill-defined – of the Freedom Convoy, and arrests has been made. This is not to mention the grotesque scenes of police brutality that took place over the weekend against clearly peaceful protesters.

For some, this is proof that Canada is dead, or that she has descended into irreparable totalitarianism. But I don’t agree, and I am not filled with despair, but instead filled with hope, even if of the hopelessly romantic sort. [Fil Beorchia]

MPs, Senators on Emergencies Act committee will take secrecy oath: Gov't Senate rep.

OTTAWA — Members of a parliamentary committee set up to scrutinize the Emergencies Act will have to take an oath of secrecy but will not be given access to highly classified material, says the government's representative in the Senate.

Sen. Marc Gold also told senators that ministers are receiving hourly police updates about potential threats around the country to assess if the emergency law is still needed.

The Senate began debating Tuesday whether to confirm the government's decision to invoke the Emergencies Act for the first time in Canadian history over protests and blockades of Canada's borders by people opposing vaccine mandates and other COVID-19 restrictions.

On Monday evening a majority of the House of Commons voted in favour of confirming the act after the NDP backed the minority Liberal government.

The act must also pass through the Senate, which plans to hold extra-long sittings to debate it. If it fails to approve the act, it would be immediately revoked.

If approved, however, a special joint committee of both the House of Commons and the Senate would be established to review the government’s actions under the act on an ongoing basis.

Gold said those on the committee would have to take an oath of secrecy but would not receive highly classified intelligence briefings.

Putin Orders Russian Troops to Invade Eastern Ukraine:

Russian leader Vladimir Putin has ordered troops to move into Ukraine’s Donbas region on Monday, his second unprovoked invasion in eight years of the Western-leaning former Soviet republic.

Defying weeks of frantic international diplomacy and warnings from NATO member states, Putin declared in an angry speech that Moscow would grant formal diplomatic recognition to two breakaway republics held by Russian-supported militia groups. The recognition essentially collapses the Minsk ceasefire agreement installed after Russia illegally annexed Crimea in southern Ukraine. Putin said he would send Russian forces into the eastern Ukrainian republics as “peacekeepers.”

President Joe Biden “strongly condemned” the announcement in calls with leaders of Ukraine, France, and Germany, according to White House statements issued Monday.

“We strongly condemn President Putin’s decision to recognize the so-called ‘Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics’ as ‘independent,’” said Secretary of State Antony Blinken, in a statement. “As we said when the Duma first made its request: this decision represents a complete rejection of Russia’s commitments under the Minsk agreements, directly contradicts Russia’s claimed commitment to diplomacy, and is a clear attack on Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.”

Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Mark Milley also spoke with Ukraine’s military chief, Lt. Gen. Valery Zaluzhny. “The chairman once again reaffirmed unwavering support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” Milley’s spokesman Col. David Butler said in a statement.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said in a statement, “I condemn Russia’s decision to extend recognition to the self-proclaimed ‘Donetsk People’s Republic’ and ‘Luhansk People’s Republic.’ This further undermines Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, erodes efforts towards a resolution of the conflict, and violates the Minsk Agreements, to which Russia is a party.” [Defense One]

Joy Behar, co-host of The View, stated during a recent show that she would be wearing a mask in public “indefinitely” due to concerns over COVID-19, however, she has already been seen breaking that vow, according to The Post Millennial.

“Personally, I listen to the little voice in my head that doesn’t really follow a hundred percent what they tell me because they keep changing it,” Behar said on her show in the context of the changing guidance from the CDC about masking.

“So like, a very short time ago they were saying put the N95 masks on, make sure it’s on, and now they’re saying you don’t have to wear them anymore. So if I go on the subway, if I go in a bus, if I go into the theater, if I go into, where else would I go? A crowded place, I would wear a mask, and I might do that indefinitely,” she added.

“Because why do I need the flu or a cold even?” Behar said. “And so, I’m listening to myself right now. I mean, I don’t think it’s a hundred percent safe yet.”

However, the issue of whether to wear masks for the long haul seems to be spreading. Dr. Laura Wright spoke extensively about death statistics saying that parents should make an assessment about whether their kids should wear masks indefinitely: “We need to weigh risks. Tradeoffs is a basic thing that we teach,” Wright said. “We need to be able to be adults about this. Why should you have to make decisions like this? Why has the messaging been so inconsistent?”

MSNBC viewers lashed out at the progressive cable news channel after veteran journalist Andrea Mitchell interviewed John Bolton about the Biden administration's failures in Ukraine.

The former national security advisor in the Trump administration criticized President Joe Biden for failing to proactively prevent Russia's invasion into Ukraine, a former Soviet republic.

"I think [Russian President] Putin was undoubtedly waiting for a second Trump term. but he's getting almost effectively what he would have expected then," said Bolton. "This is gonna be a victory for Russia."

"You think that what the Biden administration is doing, rallying the NATO allies," Mitchell replied before getting interrupted.

"It has failed,"Bolton fired back. "The president has said it has failed.

They went on to debate whether NATO was more unified under the real threat of Russian invasion or whether it remained divided, but the viewers were not impressed by Bolton's presence on the show or Mitchell's reactions to his critique.
