Trump lists perks should Canada become 51st US State
The US President has named lower taxes and tariffs, and military support for Ottawa as bonuses, were it to join Washington
US President Donald Trump has once again stated that he would love to see Canada become America’s 51st state, promising a list of perks to its citizens.
Trump made the remarks, echoing previous numerous suggestions that his his administration would somehow transform Canada into a part of the US, on Friday during a press briefing in North Carolina.
”The Canadian citizens, if that happened, would get a very big tax cut, a tremendous tax cut because they are currently very highly taxed,” he said.
Trump went on to claim that the Canadians wouldn’t have to worry about their military or many other issues. “They’d also have better health coverage - much better health coverage, in fact,” he asserted, adding, “I think the people of Canada would like it if it's explained [to them].”
During and after his election campaign, Trump has threatened to impose tariffs on Canadian goods, arguing that the measure would strengthen the US economy. He told reporters on Thursday that still plans to hit Canada with 25% tariffs starting February 1.
According to Trump, Canada joining the US would nullify any tariffs and create business opportunities.
The US is “losing $200 billion a year” to its northern neighbor, Trump insisted during the press briefing, blaming “poor management, especially in the last four years,” that has allowed the situation to become “very imbalanced.”
The US does not need Canadian cars, lumber, and food products “because we produce the same things right on the other side of the border,” he claimed.
Earlier this month, Trump shared two maps on social media showing Canada as an American territory, after Canada’s outgoing Prime Minister Justin Trudeau rebuffed his proposal to merge the countries.
Trudeau, who then announced that he would step down as prime minister and leader of the Liberal Party citing “internal battles”, said that Canada will never become a part of the United States.
Trump in turn suggested that the US could use “economic force” to absorb its northern neighbor, whose goods he threatened to hit with harsh tariffs.
On Thursday, Trudeau warned that Canada will respond with retaliatory tariffs and “prices for American consumers on just about everything will go up.”
Some media have pointed out, citing the US Bureau of Economic Analysis, that in fact, the US goods and services trade deficit with Canada was slightly above $40 billion in 2023.

US suspends aid to Ukraine – Politico
The administration of President Donald Trump has reportedly frozen assistance grants as part of a broader foreign policy audit
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has frozen nearly all new aid grants to Ukraine for 90 days, Politico reported on Friday. The move comes after President Donald Trump ordered a full review of all foreign assistance.
Rubio instructed diplomatic and consular posts to issue “stop-work orders” on nearly all “existing foreign assistance awards,” Politico said, citing an internal document.
According to Politico, the order “shocked” State Department officials and appears to apply to funding for military assistance to Ukraine.
The magazine cited three current and two former officials familiar with the matter as saying Rubio’s guidance means that “no further actions will be taken to disperse aid funding to programs already approved by the US government.”
The BBC, which also reviewed the State Department memo, reported that it appears to “affect everything from development assistance to military aid.”
Although the Pentagon previously told Voice of America that the aid freeze would not affect “security assistance to Ukraine,” Rubio’s memo reportedly only granted exceptions for military aid to Israel and Egypt, without mentioning any other country.
Journalist Ken Klippenstein posted what he said was a copy of Rubio’s guidance, which “pauses all new obligations of funding, pending a review, for foreign assistance programs” funded through the State Department and the US Agency for International Development (USAID).
Trump, who took office on Monday, has ordered a 90-day suspension of all “foreign development assistance for assessment of programmatic efficiencies and consistency with United States foreign policy.”
A USAID official told Reuters that among the programs that were frozen are assistance to schools and healthcare, including emergency maternal care and the vaccination of children.
Since February 2022, USAID has provided $2.6 billion in humanitarian aid, $5 billion in development assistance, and more than $30 billion in “direct budget support,” according to its website.
The US has provided nearly $66 billion in military aid to Ukraine since February 2022, according to the Pentagon.
Trump has repeatedly criticized his predecessor, Joe Biden, for approving unconditional aid to Ukraine and has vowed to implement cost-cutting measures. He also promised to quickly negotiate a peace deal between Moscow and Kiev.

Judicial Watch Sues Chicago Mayor for Resisting Trump’s Deportations
We will see much resistance to President Trump’s policies at every level of government, something we expected, and Judicial Watch taking steps to uncover the lawlessness, especially the massive resistance expected over President Trump’s mass deportations, which have already begun.
We sued Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson for records regarding his vow to resist the Trump administration’s mass deportation and other immigration law enforcement activities (Judicial Watch Inc. v. Office of the Mayor (No. 2025-CH-00347)).
On November 11, 2024, the mayor held a press conference at which he stated that Chicago would remain a so-called “sanctuary city” and that city officials “will continue to shield all immigrants in Chicago from federal agents, regardless of whether they are citizens, permanent residents or asylum seekers, despite the election of President-elect Donald Trump.”
According to a WTTW News report, Mayor Johnson said he “was prepared to fight any effort to stop federal funds from flowing to Chicago because it will not cooperate with mass deportation efforts, and would work to stop the arrival of immigration agents.”
“We will not bend or break,” Johnson said. “Our values will remain strong and firm. We will face likely hurdles in our work over the next four years but we will not be stopped and we will not go back.”
The firm Chalmers, Adams, Backer & Kaufman filed the lawsuit on our behalf in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois County Department Chancery Division after the mayor’s office failed to adequately respond to a November 27, 2024, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request for records or communications of Mayor Johnson or his designated representative about plans or preparations to resist federal efforts to enforce immigration laws or not cooperate with Immigration and Customs Enforcement deportations.
The new Trump Justice Department initiated a policy directing federal prosecutors to investigate and consider prosecuting “resistance, obstruction, and other non-compliance with lawful immigration-related commands and requests from federal authorities.” Fox News reported last month that since August 2022 Chicago has spent $574.5 million on sheltering migrants.
Johnson announced himself and his city government to be outlaws on illegal immigration as they plan to help illegal aliens resist the rule of law. Sure enough, this scandal is worsened by the evident cover-up of the full scope of Mayor Johnson’s lawlessness, which we aim to remedy with our open records lawsuit.
Driver’s License Security Law Passed after 9/11 Delayed Two More Year
As you might have suspected, your federal government doesn’t take your security seriously. It has yet to begin a secure driver’s license system enacted after 9/11, as our Corruption Chronicles blog reports. And it has just delayed the program once again.
In what has become a decades-long joke, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is once again postponing the deadline to fully enforce a law requiring driver’s license security standards designed to prevent another terrorist attack. Unbelievably, among the reasons for the latest delay is that the public expects it based on the government’s history of repeatedly extending enforcement deadlines.
The measure, REAL ID Act, was passed by Congress after 9/11 to establish a more secure national system less prone to fraud after several of the hijackers exploited loopholes to obtain dozens of driver’s licenses from various states. The cards allowed the terrorists to take flight lessons and board planes to carry out the 2001 attacks.
At the recommendation of the 9/11 Commission Congress passed the REAL ID Act in 2005 and states originally had until 2011 to comply.Two decades later it has yet to be enforced. The Obama administration tried to drastically weaken the legislation with DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano granting a 20-month extension on the deadline as she worked behind the scenes to undermine the law, asserting that it violates civil liberties and privacy.
During the first Trump administration DHS announced that full enforcement of REAL ID would take effect at all federally regulated airports, federal facilities, and nuclear power plants by the fall of 2021 since all 50 states were finally in full compliance with the law. It never materialized, however.
Biden got elected and used COVID-19 as an excuse to postpone the security measure’s implementation, extending the deadline by two years to address the lingering impacts of the pandemic on the ability to obtain a compliant license.
Less than a year later, the Biden DHS again delayed enforcing REAL ID, claiming that it could cause “undue burden and confusion” for those using licenses that fail to meet federal standards.Somewhere along the way, May 2025 became DHS’s target date to finally enforce the measure but this month the agency issued yet another two-year extension, giving federal agencies the choice to begin full enforcement by May or implement a “phased enforcement plan” as they see fit.
Created after the 2001 terrorist attacks to protect the nation from new and emerging threats, DHS justifies the delay in the Federal Register by explaining that the public may not feel an urgency to obtain a REAL ID-compliant card because there is a history of enforcement deadlines being extended and residents may continue to expect additional extensions.
“DHS believes this lack of urgency is likely to delay increased adoption in many States despite best efforts to inform the public, potentially leading to last-minute surges in demand for REAL ID-compliant IDs leading up to the deadline,” DHS writes. The surge could overwhelm states and result in backlogs and delays in REAL ID issuance, according to the agency.
“In light of this, DHS anticipates that a significant number of individuals seeking to use their DL/ID for a REAL ID official purpose on and after May 7, 2025, may not have a compliant DL/ID.”Although the law was enacted two decades ago only around half of the U.S. population with a state-issued driver’s license or identification card is REAL ID-compliant, DHS reveals. As of January 2024, states, territories, and the District of Columbia have issued approximately 162 million REAL ID-compliant cards and data from states indicates that around 124 million noncompliant licenses and ID cards are still in circulation.
“DHS recognizes that this could result in a situation where individuals are unable to present a compliant DL/ID to access a Federal facility, board a federally regulated commercial aircraft, or enter a nuclear power plant on a large scale,” the new rule states. “For some agencies, this scenario may raise serious concerns related to security, agency operations, and potential impact to the public.”
The newly issued rule recognizes the concerns, DHS writes, and provides flexibility by giving federal agencies another two years to implement REAL ID card-based enforcement “using a phased approach tailored to their specific operations.”DHS estimates the cost of the rule, over two years, is $1.73 million.
The agency fails to offer details but says the expense is related to “facilitating phased enforcement” while offering federal agencies flexibility that may reduce operational disruptions. DHS assures it is working hard to “raise awareness” about the 20-year-old driver’s license security law by, among other things, engaging in a print, social and digital media campaign.

Doug Ford Confirms he’s calling snap Ontario Election:
Premier Doug Ford says he will be calling an election on Wednesday in order to secure a mandate to fight against the threat of tariffs from the United States.
That election call would send Ontarians to the polls on Feb. 27, more than a year before the June 2026 fixed election date.
“With a strong mandate, we will be able to fight with Donald Trump to make sure we stop the tariffs,” he said Friday at a press conference.
Ford, who already has a large majority government, suggested he is not satisfied with the 79 out of 124 seats his Progressive Conservatives currently hold.
“We need the largest mandate in Ontario’s history,” he said.
“When you have a strong mandate in politics, and you have a strong mandate from the people for the next four years to last over the four years of the Trump administration, I can tell you, the opposition treats you with a little more respect, as opposed to being vulnerable. Always people think, ’OK, they’re going into an election.”’
Ford was in Brampton to announce that he plans to build a tunnel in the city for an LRT project. Seats in Brampton and the rest of Peel Region, which includes Mississauga and Caledon, may be more in play this election with former Mississauga mayor Bonnie Crombie now leader of the Ontario Liberals.
Ford confirmed that he will be visiting the lieutenant-governor on Tuesday to dissolve the legislature and have the writs issued on Wednesday.
He said he can perform his duties as premier of the province while also campaigning as leader of the Progressive Conservatives. He still plans to head to Washington, D.C., twice in February to make a case to U.S. lawmakers to avoid tariffs.
Ford has said he expects the possible Trump measures to hit Ontario particularly hard, specifically the auto sector. He said Ontario could lose upwards of 500,000 jobs should Trump follow through on his 25 per cent tariff threat.
“When the tariffs hit, it affects the media, it affects manufacturing, it affects every single sector in this province,” he said in response to a reporter’s question about whether he would release a fully costed platform.
“So, you better pray that we get elected, because I’m going to protect everyone’s job, including the media’s job.”
Opposition parties have said an early election is not necessary because they would support stimulus spending, and Ford already has a mandate to protect Ontario’s interests.

Welcome Pro-Life Pardons
Joe Biden’s DOJ targeted pro-lifers for opposing the sacrament of abortion. Donald Trump freed them.
Donald Trump may have moderated on the abortion issue during the presidential campaign after the electoral pushback Republicans endured after Roe v. Wade was overturned, but that doesn’t mean he’s done with the pro-life movement. He showed as much by pardoning 23 pro-lifers unjustly targeted by Joe Biden’s Two-Tiered Justice Department.
Yesterday, I criticized Trump’s pardons of the violent J6ers because he failed to distinguish them from the nonviolent grandmothers who were unjustly prosecuted for wandering the halls of Congress. The pro-life pardons, like those for nonviolent protesters, are praiseworthy.
In fact, it’s largely for the same reason. Biden’s Justice Department weaponized the law against certain conservatives for political reasons. For January 6, that meant indicting as many people as possible to bolster the Insurrection™ narrative. As for pro-lifers, the DOJ targeted them to inspire the rabidly pro-abortion ranks of those voting for the “good Catholic” Biden.
Biden used the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act to intimidate and punish protesters for doing heinous things like … singing hymns and praying outside abortion clinics or talking to women looking to enter those clinics. In the case of Mark Houck, who was eventually acquitted, the DOJ targeted him for pushing another man who threatened his young son outside an abortion clinic.
Some of these pardoned protesters did indeed briefly block access to a facility infamous for performing late-term abortions, but they’ve got nothing on the typical left-wing hooligan screaming obscenities or holding vulgar signs in public places, much less the BLM rioters burning and looting in American cities and facing no punishment whatsoever. The pro-lifers’ real “crime” is that they oppose abortion, the Left’s foremost sacrament.
Evidence of this politicization can be found in the fact that the DOJ didn’t bother to prosecute pro-abortion fanatics who vandalized pro-life clinics or churches or threatened people for not supporting the “right” to kill an unborn child.
Here’s how The Washington Post framed the pardons on X: “President Donald Trump granted pardons Thursday to 23 people who were convicted of blocking access to reproductive health clinics, fulfilling another campaign promise to reward political supporters who have run afoul of the law.”
I suppose that’s one way to put it, but the law in question is an arguably unconstitutional abomination, most often used to silence the free speech rights of pro-life activists.
Democrats passed and Bill Clinton signed the FACE Act in 1994, and their objective has become even more evident in the years since. According to The Daily Wire, “The FACE Act was supposed to protect both churches and clinics, but the law has almost exclusively been used to prosecute pro-lifers. Trump’s pardon language focused on free speech, saying the pardons are for 23 “peaceful pro-life protesters who were prosecuted by the Biden administration for exercising their First Amendment rights.”
The Thomas More Society represented the individuals involved. Peter Breen, executive vice president of the firm, said, “Today is a new day for the pardoned pro-life advocates who have suffered FBI raids, federal prosecutions, and severe punishment for peacefully and courageously witnessing for life. We thank President Trump for keeping his promise to these pro-life mothers, fathers, grandparents, pastors, and priests.”
In related news in Congress, Democrats are fighting tooth and nail to prevent passage of the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act. It does just what it says — provides legal protection for an infant born alive after an unsuccessful abortion attempt. It happens far more often than anyone on the Left cares to admit. The House passed it yesterday, 220-210, with one “present” vote. Democrats have so far blocked it in the Senate, though Republicans will likely keep trying.
The irony is that such legislation wouldn’t be necessary if the U.S. weren’t among the seven nations in the world that allow late-term abortion. Most nations in Europe allow abortion only in the first trimester — before viability outside the womb.
Finally, the 52nd annual March for Life is being held today, and Vice President JD Vance will speak publicly for the first time since taking office... It was a very Good Speech!

What Trump and Vance Told March for Life Crowd:
On Friday thousands of supporters of the pro-life cause gathered to participate in the annual March for Life in Washington, D.C. and heard from President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance, who were sworn into office earlier this week.
In a prerecorded video, Trump pledged that in his second term his administration would “again stand proudly for families and for life, we will protect the historic gains we have made and stop the radical Democrat push for a federal right to unlimited abortion on demand up to the moment of birth and even after birth.”
The 47th president also promised to support adoption and foster care and to investigate attacks on churches and crisis pregnancy centers. The president also noted his recent pardoning of pro-life activists.
“I will also end the weaponization of law enforcement against Americans of faith,” said Trump. “I’m releasing the Christian and pro-life activists who were persecuted by the Biden regime for praying and living out their faith.”
The vice president struck a similar note, making it clear that pro-life activists should no longer fear the Justice Department.
“No longer will the federal government direct FBI raids on the homes of people like Mark Houck and other Catholic and Christian activists who are fighting for the unborn every single day,” said Vance. The FBI came with guns to the house of Houck, a pro-life activist, and his wife and seven children without notice.

“And no longer will our government throw pro-life protesters and activists, elderly grandparents, or anybody else in prison. It stopped on Monday and we’re not going to let it come back to this country,” Vance added.
In his address, he also decried the anti-family culture of the United States.
“We failed a generation, not only by permitting a culture of abortion on demand, but also by neglecting to help young parents achieve the ingredients they need to lead a happy and meaningful life,” he said.
Vance declared that he saw a role of the government, to provide an environment that supported families.
“And it is the task of our government is to make it easier for young moms and dads to afford to have kids, to bring them into the world and to welcome them as the blessings that we know they are here at the March for Life.”
The 40-year-old, who has three young children with his wife Usha, continued:
Now it should be easier, easier to raise a family, easier to find a good job, easier to build a home to raise that family in, easier to save up and purchase a good stroller, a crib for a nursery.
We need a culture that celebrates life at all stages, one that recognizes and truly believes that the benchmark of national success is not our GDP number or our stock market, but whether people feel that they can raise thriving and healthy families in our country.
The vice president touted the record of Trump during his first term including his appointments of three justices of the Supreme Court who helped overturn Roe v. Wade, as well as dozens of pro-life federal judges.
Vance noted that, just four days into his second term, Trump had already endorsed the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, and he promised that the Justice Department would no longer target pro-life activists.
The vice president concluded his speech by praising the pro-life marchers.
“You make it possible for us to stand here and say that America is fundamentally a pro-baby, a pro-life, and a pro family country.”
The Daily Signal also caught up with some pro-life marchers to ask them what they hoped to hear from the new administration. Father Ben Rynearson, a a Catholic priest, told The Daily Signal that he hoped the country could “get back to a place in our culture and our societies where all life is seen as something sacred…to protect the unborn and those who have no voice, to be able to speak for those who have no voice.”
Eva Cooley and Hunter Dalke, an engaged couple active in pro-life politics, also discussed what they wanted to see from the Trump administration. Cooley told The Daily Signal that one of her biggest priorities she hoped to see from the new administration was planning to defund Planned Parenthood.
“Planned Parenthood has caused so much damage to so many women, and they are funded with taxpayer dollars to allow abortions to happen, and that is just a horrible use of funds, a horrible use of resources. And so I’m really hoping that the Trump administration can stop pouring so much of our money into this abortion giant,” Cooley said.
Dalke added that there needed to be “accurate messaging about what abortion actually is.”
“Across America, women are being told lies about what abortion has been, telling them that it’s not the killing of a human life. And I think we can do better and treat women better.”
Cooley and Dalke also expressed appreciation for Trump’s pardoning of pro-life activists Thursday. “We were just so grateful that these peaceful protesters, some of whom were just praying outside of abortion clinics, can finally go home to their families,” said Cooley.
“It was just absolutely ridiculous and an utter misuse of power from the Biden-Harris administration to put these protesters in jail. And we’re looking forward to seeing what else Trump can do,” she added.

A Different Reality Behind the Scenes
For 27 years, I worked in emergency medicine, familiar with the rhythms of busy, normal, and quiet days in a hospital. But the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic brought a surreal shift. Hospitals, portrayed as overwhelmed, often resembled ghost towns. The disconnect between what we were told and what we experienced was staggering. While isolated hotspots existed, the broader narrative failed to align with reality.
Many doctors, including myself, found empty emergency rooms while mainstream media showcased apocalyptic imagery. We reached out to colleagues across Canada and the U.S., discovering similar stories—full wards existed only in the headlines, not in most hospitals.
The Psychological Manipulation of Society
The pandemic ushered in an era of psychological warfare. The media's messaging and government policies created a state of fear and compliance. A presentation by Jason Christoff during the International COVID Summit shed light on this "psychological operation." The manipulation wasn’t limited to the general population but was concentrated on doctors, nurses, teachers, and politicians—the very individuals meant to question and lead.
Doctors, typically trained to think critically, were forced into a mold of conformity. Public health directives changed daily, often contradicting prior guidelines, creating confusion and busywork that diverted attention from questioning the underlying science.
Ethical Dilemmas and the Cost of Integrity
The pandemic forced a stark choice on physicians: follow the science and the Hippocratic Oath or comply with policies that defied both. Some, like myself, chose the former, at great personal cost. Most followed the latter, earning financial incentives for administering "vaccines" or participating in unnecessary tests.
One glaring example involved a doctor in Kingston, Ontario, who had over $600,000 in billings clawed back—not because of concerns over patient safety but due to technicalities about medical student volunteers. Meanwhile, ethical doctors like Dr. Patrick Phillips, Mary O'Connor, and others were persecuted for standing against the narrative, losing their careers, homes, and life savings.
The Illusion of Heroism
Initially, the pandemic brought an illusion of heroism. Doctors and nurses were hailed as protectors against an invisible enemy. Public admiration was intoxicating, and compliance seemed easier than questioning. But behind the façade, the system incentivized conformity over critical thinking. Zoom meetings replaced patient care, and protocols abandoned foundational medical principles.
This illusion came with a cost. Those who questioned the system faced ostracism, legal battles, and financial ruin. The narrative’s enforcement relied on carrots, like financial rewards, and sticks, such as license revocations and public shaming.
Lessons for the Future
The World Council for Health (WCH) emerged as a response to these systemic failures. Unlike the World Health Organization (WHO), WCH seeks to empower individuals and local councils rather than enforcing top-down directives. It recognizes that health sovereignty belongs to individuals, not global bureaucracies.
As the world begins to awaken to these realities, the role of informed citizens and ethical professionals becomes crucial. We must share knowledge, support each other, and reject systems that prioritize control over health and truth.
Moving Beyond the COVID-19 "Vaccine" Era
The harms caused by the COVID-19 "vaccines"—from myocarditis to strokes and miscarriages—are undeniable. Yet, their effectiveness at preventing COVID-19 infections is actually in the negative (they make their victims more likely to get sick with COVID). Presenting data to the Japanese parliament, I highlighted how these injections failed to meet their promises while causing significant harm.
Those of us who avoided the injections must now equip ourselves with knowledge to guide others. The tide is turning, and as more people awaken to these truths, the need for ethical voices will only grow.

WASHINGTON — The way former President Donald Trump tells it, the men and women who stormed the Capitol because they believed his lies about the 2020 presidential election are "hostages" and “unbelievable patriots” who are being mistreated by the justice system.
But an NBC News review of hundreds of cases against Jan. 6 defendants found that just 15 people charged in connection with the Capitol attack are currently being held pretrial at the order of federal judges. That number of pretrial detainees has decreased in recent months, as more and more Jan. 6 defendants have taken plea deals or been found guilty, and as federal judges have been hesitant to hold new arrestees in pre-trial custody more than three years after the attack.

Trump has called Jan. 6 detainees “hostages” and even opens rallies by playing a recording from the “J6 Prison Choir.” Trump has said he’ll pardon “a large portion” of the rioters “very early on” if he wins in 2024 and recently vowed to “free the Jan. 6 Hostages” as one of his “first acts as your next President.”
