The Alphabetic Book of Daniel

The Hebrew alphabet is composed of twenty-two letters.  Because there are no Hebrew numbers, the letters have numeric values, much like Roman numerals.  The Hebrew letters also have meanings attached to them.  This is evidenced by Psalm 119 which is alphabetic.  For more information please see https://www.luke810.com/alph1.htm

 

The twelve chapters of the Book of Daniel have alphabetic meanings.  Some are more obvious than others.

 

Chapter 1 – Aleph, God as Creator and King.  God gave Daniel and his three friends knowledge and understanding (verse 17) and they were found to be ten times better than all the others.

Chapter 2 – Beit, House and Temple.  When Daniel interpreted the king’s dream, he told of the Kingdom of God  which will never be destroyed (verse 44).  The Lord’s Temple will be the center of this kingdom.

Chapter 3 – Gimel, Loving kindness and culmination.  When Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego walked out of the fiery furnace, they were unharmed (verses 26-27).  This displayed God’s loving kindness.  Also, this event seems to be the culmination of their part in the Book of Daniel, for they are not mentioned again.

Chapter 4 – Dalet, the way or path.  After King Nebuchadnezzar’s time of insanity he raised his eyes to Heaven and praised the Lord. (verse 34)  This is the way or path to sanity and blessing.

Chapter 5 – Hay, grace.  King Belshazzar showed total disdain for the Lord, and when the meaning of what the hand wrote on the wall, he did not repent.  That night his life was required of him. (verse 30)  This is the opposite of grace.  This chapter shows anti-grace.

Chapter 6 – Vav, Completion and redemption.  When Daniel was falsely accused by his jealous subordinates, he was completely redeemed by the Lord while in the lion’s den. (verses 21-22)

Chapter 7 – Zayin, Sustenance and struggle; affliction.  Daniel received a disturbing vision about coming kingdoms that would afflict Israel.  But Daniel is shown that after the struggle, the everlasting kingdom of the Lord would prevail.

Chapter 8 – Chet, Transcendence, life and grace.  In another vision, Daniel is shown the time of wrath and a king who would be powerful, but not by his own power. (verse 24)  This king will be defeated, but not by human hand. (verse 25)  This demonstrates the Lord’s transcendent grace.

Chapter 9 – Tet, Serpent and objective good.  In this chapter Daniel prayed for the Lord’s merciful action toward fallen Israel.  He was shown that bad things would occur, but for a good result (objective good).  As in chapters seven and eight, the Lord will be victorious!

Chapter 10 – Yod, Creation and metaphysical.  The yod is the first letter of the Lord’s name, Jahweh or Jehovah, and is an abbreviation of that name.  In this chapter Daniel was visited by a “certain man,” a metaphysical being.  The description of this man (verses 5-6) appears to be the same as in the Revelation 1:13-15, which man was the Lord Jesus.

Chapter 11 – Kaf, Crowning accomplishment.  The prophecy given to Daniel in this chapter is so accurate of following events that weak minded, unbelieving Christians claim that it was written after the fact.  But that is not the crowning accomplishment.  In addition to describing historic events in the centuries before the birth of the Lord Jesus, this chapter also describes the coming events of the Last Days.  This chapter describes the efforts and defeat of the person empowered by the Devil (Daniel 8:24), and therefore, the defeat of the Devil.  The events of this chapter are the crowning accomplishment of the Lord’s great plan from before the Creation of the earth. 

Chapter 12 – Lamed, Teaching and learning.  In this chapter we are given information, we are taught regarding the End Times and how the foregoing prophecies lead up to those times.

 

It is a small thing for the Creator of all things to place simple designs and patterns in His Holy Word.  They are there to bless us and encourage us.

 

It is interesting that Daniel, who was given so many End Time prophecies, is described as being “beloved” (Daniel 10:11, 10:19), just as the Apostle John, who was given the End Time prophecy of the Revelation, is described as “beloved” (John 19:26, 20:2).

 

Praise the Lord for loving us enough to send the Lord Jesus to save us!  Praise Him always!

Salim Mansur is a Professor Emeritus of Political Science at the University of Western Ontario and has published in many of Canada’s biggest newspapers as well as international publications. Adam Schiff made his name by going on television and lying about Donald Trump colluding with the Russians in the 2016 election.

When that big lie fell apart, Schiff quickly pivoted to the Ukraine impeachment hoax.

But Schiff isn’t chastened at all about all the misinformation he pumped into the American political discourse.

 

In fact, Schiff is doubling down.

Schiff is now the junior Senator from California.

That afforded him another opportunity to insert himself into the center of American politics due to the wildfires ravaging Southern California.

California is run by Democrats.

 

Democrats hold every statewide office and a supermajority in the legislature.

Los Angeles’ mayor is also a Democrat.

Wildfires are phenomena that occur in California because of the state’s terrain and temperature.

But these fires are running out of control thanks to the utter failure of Democrat Party governance.

 

The Biden administration canceled controlled burns scheduled to take place in October because of the fear something would go wrong and create a massive embarrassment in the final days of the campaign.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass slashed $17 million from the fire department’s budget.

The state hasn’t built any new reservoirs since 1979.

 

Donald Trump and Elon Musk were vocal critics of the fact that Newsom failed to build up California’s water infrastructure and left fire hydrants dry and reservoirs empty.

Adam Schiff addressed these criticisms on ABC’s This Week.

 

And Schiff resorted to another round of misinformation to try and defend his fellow California Democrats.

“The reservoirs were full at the initiation of these fires,” Schiff falsely claimed.

Host Jonathan Karl – one of the Democrat activists in the media who loves to present themselves as a beacon of truth for fact checking Donald Trump – sat silently and didn’t correct Schiff’s misinformation.

Users on social media weren’t so compliant.

 

A community note on X exposed Schiff’s falsehood.

“Senator Schiff is incorrect. Pacific Palisades is served by the Santa Ynez reservoir, which holds 117 million gallons of water. It was empty for maintenance at the time the fires broke out. The Governor has ordered an investigation,” the community note read.

 

The community note also linked to a Los Angeles Times story reporting on the empty reservoir in the Pacific Palisades – which also happened to be ground zero for the wildfires.

“A large reservoir in Pacific Palisades that is part of the Los Angeles water supply system was out of commission when a ferocious wildfire destroyed thousands of homes and other structures nearby,” the Los Angeles Times found.

 

“Officials said that the Santa Ynez Reservoir had been closed since about February for repairs to its cover, leaving a 117-million-gallon water storage complex empty in the heart of the Palisades for nearly a year,” the Los Angeles Times reported.

 

If California was a red state and Newsom a GOP Governor, the press would be up in arms portraying this as their Katrina and declaring their political career over.

But since Newsom is a Democrat with 2028 aspirations, the media is happy to look the other way.

Biden nailed with Mockery and Contempt over Absurd Attempt to Declare 28th Amendment to the Constitution:

The Department of Justice has already opined that the amendment had not been ratified.

Outgoing President Joe Biden issued a declaration that was mocked and ridiculed for attempting to simply declare a 28th Amendment to the Constitution.

 

Biden posted on social media his "belief" that the Equal Rights Amendment was ratified to the Constitution.

'Dementia is not a magic ticket to become a dictator.'

 

"Today I'm affirming what I have long believed and what three-fourths of the states have ratified," read the missive attributed to Biden. "The 28th Amendment is the law of the land, guaranteeing all Americans equal rights and protections under the law regardless of their sex." He was immediately fact-checked by a community note on the X platform that cited the Department of Justice under Biden.

 

"The National Archivist who is responsible for enrolling new amendments has stated that that the ERA has not been lawfully ratified, citing a legal opinion drafted by the Biden Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel in 2022 confirming this position," read the note.

 

The amendment needed three-fourths of the state’s approval to be ratified, and Congress had sent a time limit to reach the threshold by 1982. The effort failed despite some states voting to ratify the amendment after the time deadline.

 

Biden was also assailed by critics online for the absurd proclamation.

"No he didn't. He says he did, but because he can't, he didn't," replied Brit Hume of Fox News.

"Sir, this is not how the Constitution works. Dementia is not a magic ticket to become a dictator that asserts Constitutional amendments into existence," responded Molly Hemingway.

 

"Who would have guessed that the guy who illegally and proudly tried to forgive everyone's student loans would have no regard for the rule of law and would pretend he has magic powers?" said Tim Carney of the American Enterprise Institute.

 

"Nope, sorry, you can't just 'declare' the 28th Amendment law, any more than I can declare you dead. That requires a coroner. And this requires a constitutional process," responded Ben Shapiro of The Daily Wire.

 

Others noted that even the late feminist icon and Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg admitted in 2020 that the ERA struggle had failed and needed a reboot.

 

“There’s too much controversy about latecomers,” Ginsburg said at the time. “Plus, a number of states have withdrawn their ratification. So, if you count a latecomer on the plus side, how can you disregard states that said, ‘we’ve changed our minds?’”

 

A challenge on the basis of Biden's declaration could end up in the U.S. Supreme Court, which currently has a conservative majority and would likely strike down the amendment.

Biden Says He Ratified New Constitutional Amendment, Despite Opposition:

President Joe Biden on Jan. 17 announced that the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) is the “law of the land,” despite the U.S. archivist recently saying the president could not ratify the constitutional amendment.

 

“It is long past time to recognize the will of the American people,” Biden said in a statement. “In keeping with my oath and duty to Constitution and country, I affirm what I believe and what three-fourths of the states have ratified: the 28th Amendment is the law of the land, guaranteeing all Americans equal rights and protections under the law regardless of their sex.”

 

Biden pointed to how Virginia in 2020 became the 38th state to ratify the ERA, which would prohibit discrimination on the basis of gender.

The U.S. archivist and U.S. deputy archivist said in late 2024 that the president could not ratify the amendment because the amendment did not receive the required support from three-fourths of the states by the deadline Congress imposed, which was June 30, 1982.

 

The Department of Justice’s Office of Legal Counsel in 2020, while Donald Trump was president, and in 2022, after Biden took office, also said that ratification cannot occur unless Congress or the courts extend or remove the ratification deadline.

 

However, the American Bar Association (ABA) is among the organizations that have offered a different view: that Virginia’s ratification was sufficient to meet the three-quarters requirement, and the deadline is not relevant.

“I agree with the ABA and with leading legal constitutional scholars that the Equal Rights Amendment has become part of our Constitution,” Biden said.

 

A spokesperson for the U.S. National Archives and Records Administration, which is headed by the archivist, told The Epoch Times in an email that the position outlined by Archivist Colleen Shogan and the deputy archivist remains the same.

“This is a long-standing position for the Archivist and the National Archives. The underlying legal and procedural issues have not changed,” the spokesperson said.

 

Democrat lawmakers had been urging Biden to ratify the amendment and expressed support after his announcement on Friday.

“The President is right: the Equal Rights Amendment is the law of the land. Today is one step closer to full dignity for women and every American,” Rep. Mark Takano (D-Calif.) said in a post on social media platform X.

 

Republicans had called on Biden not to ratify the amendment.

“The ERA of 1972 failed to gain the necessary support from the states before its deadline, and no court has since held that the deadline can be retroactively disregarded,” Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall told Biden in a recent letter.

 

The U.S. Constitution states that an amendment can be proposed by a two-thirds vote of both houses of Congress or if two-thirds of states request one in a special convention. The proposed amendment must be ratified by three-fourths of states.

 

 

Some lawmakers have proposed waiving the deadline, but none of those proposals have passed. There is no precedent for waiving such a deadline after it has passed, according to New York University’s Brennan Center for Justice.

The courts could end up deciding the matter, Brennan Center experts said.

The last amendment to the Constitution was ratified by enough states in 1992 that the archivist at the time certified the ratification, and Congress then approved the amendment.

COVID nurse offered cash to never apply for nursing job again:

Michelle Marion was one of approximately 16 front line health care workers that the Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance (HPHA) let go during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic for not being vaccinated against the virus.

“Three years ago. I was fired from the Stratford Hospital for not receiving the COVID-19 vaccinations. And even though it’s been three years, since that time, I’m still sadly not allowed back to work at the hospital,” said Marion.

Marion spent four years as a nurse in the Stratford General Hospital’s operating department. After being let go in November 2021 she worked at a private surgical clinic before moving to Alberta, where she currently works in a hospital operating department that no longer has a COVID vaccination mandate. However, she wants to come back to Ontario.


“If the Stratford Hospital would get on board with the other Ontario hospitals, who have changed their policy, I would come back in a heartbeat. I would love to work in the O.R. again. I would love to serve that community. That’s my community. That’s my home,” she said.


Instead of returning home, following a grievance she and others filed for their termination from Stratford’s hospital Marion was handed a settlement offer in August 2024. In it, she was offered a $3541.50 ‘retirement allowance’ to withdraw her grievance and never apply for a job at the Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance again.

“Instead of the hospital offering us our jobs back, workers who are fully capable, fully trained and ready to go back to work - instead of them offering us our jobs, they’re asking us to sign a document saying we’ll never work for them again. And they’re wanting us to take a payout of taxpayer dollars to never work there again to be quiet and to go away,” said Marion.


The settlement offer, if signed, would mean Marion could make no further claims against the HPHA, and would not seek re-instatement or apply for any current or future jobs the organization. The HPHA operates hospitals in Stratford, St. Marys, Clinton, and Seaforth. She also couldn’t talk about the settlement offer details with anyone other than her immediate family, lawyer, and financial advisor. Marion has not signed the settlement offer, and said she has no plans to.


“I personally know nine other people who have been affected in the exact same way that I have. They’ve been offered this agreement to sign saying that they’ll never come back to work - and that was offered to us this summer, after the union decided not to take our case to arbitration,” she said.


Officials with the Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance consider all grievance matters involving employees to be confidential, so they didn’t have very much to say about the details of the offer provided to Marion. They did have this to say however: they said anyone who is qualified to apply for a job at the Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance is free to do so.


And those qualifications do still involve mandatory vaccination against COVID-19.

“We continue to require proof of vaccination for all new hires, professional staff (physicians, midwives, nurse practitioners, dentists), and volunteers. This is a part of our commitment to the health and safety of our patients, staff and community from COVID-19,” said Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance CEO and President, Andrew Williams.

Marion said she believes in “medical autonomy over coerced vaccination”, so she’s not planning on getting vaccinated against COVID-19, and does not believe she should have to to be a nurse again at the Stratford General Hospital.


‘We have a nursing crisis. They say it all the time. You hear it on the news, and yet here I am saying I’ll come back - I’ll come to work, I want to work, I love my job, and they’re asking me not to, and I just I don’t understand that,” said Marion.

Grievances are processes between Human Resources, staff – in this instance Michelle, and their respective Union, and are designed to come to a mutually agreed upon decision in relation to the issue in question. In saying this, anyone qualified for our open, posted positions is able to apply, and all qualified applicants will be considered, including anyone who may have previously left on a settlement.
