Conservative activist Robby Starbuck has gotten Lowe's, Tractor Supply, Jack Daniel's, and John Deere to retreat from identity-based employee policies and donations to left-wing activism.
(LifeSiteNews) – Hardware retail chain Lowe’s is the latest major brand to announce a retreat from “woke” policies, again driven by pressure from conservative filmmaker Robby Starbuck.
Starbuck announced Monday on X that he had notified Lowe’s that he was planning another of his now-trademark exposés against the company’s left-wing corporate policies, to which Lowe’s responded by announcing multiple changes to those policies.
Specifically, the company will stop participating in the Corporate Equality Index social credit system promoted by the LGBT pressure group Human Rights Campaign (HRC), cease donations to “pride” and other divisive events, and replace identity-based employee resource groups with one for all employees. It also suggested more reforms would follow.

“We’re now forcing multibillion dollar organizations to change their policies without even posting just from fear they have of being the next company that we expose,” Starbuck said. “We are winning and one by one we WILL bring sanity back to corporate America.”

Three Holy Fires of Revival:
1. SHALLOW FIRE
Many friends are praying for Revival fires, and they don't realize we had four very famous revivals start right here in London in the 20th Century. I wrote an email about them last year if you recall. They were a fulfillment of a vision, a prophetic dream in which shooting stars landed on a map and started fires here that spread across the continent. Only now I see a problem with that vision. The flames spread out across the surface of the map leaving ashes behind!
I would call that a shallow fire that makes lots of converts but they fall away after the emotion has dissipated. Easy come - easy go.
2. DEEP FIRE
There's another kind of fire that burns underground, and it's impossible to put out. It will burn for months if it's a "zombie" fire, years if it's peat, and even centuries if it's coal.
Christian revivals can also burn for long periods of time if the spiritual ground is rich, just like seeds that took root in the Parable of the Sower.
3. PURGING FIRE
And then there is a third kind of Revival fire that purges a city or nation such as happened when the Assyrians destroyed the temple and city of Jerusalem that was the glory of King Solomon. The righteous were spared and honored in Babylon while those who ignored the prophet were killed. Ezekiel described it in the metaphor of the boiling pot found in chapter 24.

The pot represents the city/state. When the fire under the pot is boiling the water, at first it cooks delicious meats. But when the water is gone, it's a disaster. Same fire, different results. Just like a burning coal in Isiaah's mouth brought forgiveness, but a burning coal on your enemy's head will make him burn with shame when you forgive him. (Proverbs 25:22)
ON FIRE FOR GOD OR IN GOD
At the personal level, we can experience the fire of the Holy Spirit in the same three ways; superficially (which leaves us burned out), deeply (in which the embers may be fanned to flame up by any fresh wind of the Spirit), or stubbornly (when God needs to turn up the heat on us).
It is better to be on fire IN God than FOR God. It is better that the Holy Spirit has us, than we have the Holy Spirit. Self-effort is exhausting. And, outside of Jesus' body the church, we may cause the fire of the Holy Spirit to become "wildfire", a term some pastors use to describe undisciplined independent charismatic groups that can splinter and take on a cancerous life of their own. For babes in Christ, it is OK to be fed by Revival fire, but spiritual adults should be consumed by the Refiner's Fire.
THE GLORY OF GOD
The word "fire" has been used to describe the energy of God for a people who had no such word as "energy". They also called it light as in sunlight.
A pillar of light appeared to Moses, leading them ultimately to the promised land. When it stopped to part the waters for him it melted the sand on the shore into hard rock you can still see today at the Red Sea. It was also called the Glory of God. It was the same energy that burned the top of Mt. Sinai where God gave Moses the Ten Commandments, and you can see that burnt mountain top today too. Most amazing of all, it came down inside the temple built by Solomon.
The Glory of God could be as large as a mountaintop or as small as a burning bush or the flames above each head in the Upper Room on the Day of Pentecost. There are no words to adequately describe it. I have just used a few new ones to add to what others have used before me. And a thousand tongues will speak and sing ever more.

Why Canada is riddled with WildFires that burn year-round:
A rise in zombie fires in Canada is having knock-on effects for the wildfire season. Researchers and fire services are racing to find ways to put out perennial fires.
Even at -40C (-40F), smoke kept billowing from under the snow. All through the winter, Marty Wells, a wolf trapper and fire crew leader, would see plumes of white as he drove north out of Fort Nelson, British Columbia in Canada. He found melt holes venting like hot springs, and flames licking at the foot of white-encrusted trees in the muskeg bogs. In places the ground was burning a foot (30cm) deep or more.
"It gets in the muskeg and burns the muskeg and then it crawls, it creeps underground is what happens, and then pops up somewhere else," Wells says.
When the snow melted in early May, these smouldering fires, often called "zombie" fires, came to life again and began to feed on dry trees and brush. The plumes of smoke north of Fort Nelson became a conflagration of 700 sq km (270 sq miles). The town is now caught in a horseshoe of fire: to the east, another zombie fire has burned an even larger area, while to the west, a new wildfire has encroached to within 2.5km (1.6 miles) of the community, damaging properties. Residents have been evacuated. Wells says he didn't expect the fire to get this bad. "It just happened that day that we had really high winds and right conditions and away it went."
Canada's boreal zone – a mixture of forest and wetlands – makes up more than half of its land area. Wildfires burned a record 185,000 sq km (71,429 sq miles) of the country in 2023, an area the size of Syria. In western Canada, 163 of these fires went underground and smouldered until this spring, which fire services refer to as "overwintering" or "holdover" fires.
Much of Canada is in its third year of drought, with the western provinces of Alberta, British Columbia and the Northwest Territories the worst hit. Snowpack, the main source of water, was 37% lower than normal in British Columbia this winter, and powerful rivers shrivelled into thin veins of blue.
As the snow melted and windy weather arrived to fan the flames in April and May, these zombie fires tore into a smorgasbord of dry fuel. With hotspots flaring up around old burn areas in north-west Alberta, the province had to declare an early start to the fire season on 20 February, rather than the usual 1 March.
Mike Flannigan, a professor of wildland fire at Thompson Rivers University in British Columbia who has been monitoring fires there since the 1970s, says he's never seen an outbreak of zombie fires like this one. "This year, it's extremely significant," he says. "British Columbia has hundreds of thousands of hectares burned, and most of those are due to overwintering fires."
Scientists believe that zombie fires are becoming more common, and that they are a symptom of the growing frequency and intensity of wildfires due to human-caused climate warming. But these fires also kick off the fire season earlier and could potentially result in more carbon emissions per area burned.
"They're leading to significant emissions, significant fire growth the following year," Flannigan says. "As long as conditions are right, dry, it will continue to burn and burn."
The power of peat
Behind two sets of thick metal doors in Imperial College London, there's a race on, and the dried peat is winning. Peat is the dark, damp soil that forms when dead plant matter piles up in waterlogged, oxygen-poor environments like the bogs of Canada, Russia or Scotland. Because this matter can't fully decompose, it's rich in carbon, making it potentially potent fuel for zombie fires. It just depends on how wet it is.
In their "Hazelab," Guillermo Rein, a professor of fire science, and his graduate students have filled two square, foil-wrapped ceramic containers with Canadian peat and ignited the back ends with glowing hot wires. Because of the limited oxygen content within the soil, they're smouldering, or burning without a flame. White smoke wafts out as the fire creeps forward through the brown peat. The lab takes on a smell like Scotch whisky. The peat in the container on the left is unaltered, with a moisture content of about 100%.
The peat on the right was dried out in an oven to less than 1% moisture. After about two hours of burning, only a quarter of the moist peat has burned, versus more than half of the dry peat. "This is the natural, pristine condition," Rein says, pointing to the moist peat. "It can still burn, but it's relatively easy to stop because it's propagating so slowly."
Next he gestures to the dry peat. "Now imagine that someone has drained the peatland, or that climate change has arrived and it's a really, really dry year. And this is the situation."
It's the same situation in drought-stricken western Canada. As last year's gigantic fires – some started by humans, some by lightning – burned through the forests, they ignited dried-out peat below. And once peat starts burning, it can go for months, burning up to five metres (16.4ft) below the surface and creeping through the soil.
Normally, firefighters in the remote expanses of Alaska, Canada and Siberia rely on the icy grip of winter to put out wildfires. But in peat, winter doesn't always stop the burn. Behind the two ceramic containers in Hazelab is a glass-doored refrigerator where Rein has performed similar peat-burning experiments. "It doesn't care about the cold weather," he says. Even at -20C (-4F), the fire keeps smouldering. "It's very scary, actually."
Overwintering fires have probably occurred for millennia. One of the first to be recorded was in 1941, when hot ashes dumped by an Alaska Railroad train lit a fire in the boggy woods south-west of Fairbanks. That fire came back to life the next spring, burning 2,900 sq km (1,100 sq miles).
But now zombie fires are happening more often, experts believe. After a record fire season in Alaska in 2004, scientists found that fires like one in the Yukon Flats wildlife refuge had kept burning underground through the winter, chewing up the roots and soil until trees toppled.
Following the ruinous "summer of smoke" in the Northwest Territories in 2014, a dozen holdover fires reignited into "explosive" blazes that stretched fire crews thin in May 2015, far sooner than normal. And in 2020, the year after an unprecedented 100 wildfires occurred above the Arctic Circle in 2019, hotspots began showing up on satellite early in the spring thaw in Siberia, setting the stage for record wildfire carbon emissions that summer.
'Apocalypse of a forest'
The increase in zombie fires is hard to quantify since infrared satellites can't usually spot them under the snow. So, fire expert Sander Veraverbeke and his graduate students at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam have been teasing them out from on-the-ground reports and spring and summertime satellite imagery.
The first major study of overwintering fires, which they published in 2021, found that these fires accounted for 0.8% of the total area burned by wildfires in Alaska and the Northwest Territories in 2002-18. But the percentage was higher the year after big fire seasons. Hot summers resulted in especially severe wildfires that spread further and burned deeper into the soil, seeding more zombie fires, they discovered.
In Siberia, overwintering fires ate up even more of the total burned area: 3.2% in 2012-20, a study the next year found. That may actually be an underestimate, since it doesn't count the re-burning of previously scorched areas, says Vrije Universiteit graduate student and study co-author Thomas Hessilt.
Veraverbeke says his group's as-yet unpublished data suggests that since 1986, zombie fires have been burning increasingly large swathes of North America.
Wildfires are growing in general as the climate heats up, and this growth in zombie fires is roughly in proportion with all fires. But if zombie fires continue at high rates, it's possible they could encourage even more widespread and severe fires, according to Veraverbeke. "If you also have more severe fires, then that would also increase the likelihood [of overwintering fires]," he says. "So that could become a feedback loop."
The boreal forest is a "phoenix among ecosystems", author John Vaillant has written, that is "literally reborn in fire". In North America, a major wildfire every 100 years is vital to crack open black spruce cones and make room for the seeds to grow. But now fires are sweeping through more frequently, overwhelming black spruce and paving the way for deciduous aspen and birch.

Zombie fires, which can scorch an area down to the mineral soil, may be striking an even more devastating blow. In 2022, Veraverbeke and scientists Jennifer Baltzer, of Wilfrid Laurier University, and Merritt Turetsky, of the University of Colorado Boulder, went "zombie fire hunting" in the Northwest Territories. They helicoptered into 15 sites that had burned in 2014 and again in 2015. Rather than a cacophony of new saplings, they found an "apocalypse of a forest,", Turetsky says, full of blowing ash and trunks collapsed like a Jenga game. More zombie fires could convert stretches of boreal not into deciduous forest but rather shrubland or meadow, the scientists say. That may further threaten declining woodland caribou populations.
"These sort of repeat fires, bam, bam, they burned back-to-back, but maybe a decade ago. And there was very little evidence of regeneration," Turetsky says. "They sort of looked like moonscapes."
Deeper burn, higher emissions
Surprisingly, many of these fires occurred in forests that had a peat layer of only a few centimetres, she adds. That suggests that zombie fires can overwinter not only in peat but also in woody debris or tree trunks and roots.
How often that happens could answer another big question: are zombie fires boosting wildfire emissions?
Boreal peatlands store as much as 30% of the land-based carbon on Earth. Trees, on the one hand, can regrow within a century, drawing down the carbon that was released when they burned. But peat takes thousands of years of cold, wet conditions to regenerate. That means that when zombie fires burn peat, they emit ancient carbon that has very little prospect of being sequestered back into peat. "If there are parts of the world where these are happening predominantly in peatlands and there's a much deeper burn as a consequence, then yes, those parts of the landscape will see higher per area emissions," Baltzer says. "And we have some evidence of that."
Furthermore, peatlands often contain permafrost. If zombie fires set off the thawing and decomposition of that frozen soil, as other wildfires have in Alaska, it could add even more carbon to the atmosphere – though the biggest emissions threat, Baltzer notes, is from more frequent and severe wildfires overall.
The zombies of the fire season are almost as hard to stop as the ones in horror films. But they're more predictable than lightning fires because they spread from the edges of previous burn areas. This winter, aircraft in the Northwest Territories and British Columbia identified potentially dangerous zombie fires with infrared scans, and workers with a tanker truck in Alberta dug up and hosed down holdover fires near populated areas.

It takes a lot of water to put out smouldering peat: firefighters pumped 7.5 billion litres of water from nearby lakes to extinguish a peat fire in North Carolina in 2008. Rein and his colleagues have devised a suppressant that, like soap, reduces the surface tension of water, allowing it to penetrate tiny soil pores and extinguish peat fires 39% faster.
That could be potent against peat fires in Indonesia, which often survive the rainy season like zombie fires do the winter. They are often near villages that have drained peatlands to grow palm oil for globally consumed products like candy bars and shampoo.
But many boreal zombie fires are tens of kilometres from the nearest town or road. Provinces typically leave them to burn unless they threaten a community, especially with the fire season growing longer and part-time firefighters stretched thin. The best way to prevent zombie fires, scientists say, is to drastically cut our climate-warming emissions.
Tyanna Steinwand, who works for the Tłı̨chǫ first nation government in the Northwest Territories, says zombie fires like the ones that were smouldering along Highway 3 this winter increase the stress of living with wildfire. She and her three cats had to evacuate their home in Behcheko last summer in the face of advancing flames.
"Trying to get to exercise, trying to get time on the land… it's all hampered due to the forest fires," she says. "And then seeing the zombie fires smoke all spring, all winter, doesn't let you ever really relax from that."

He endorses communism as “people sharing with each other.”
Kamala Harris has failed at every job she has held. She was the top law enforcement officer in San Francisco. It’s now a cesspool of crime, drug abuse, and homelessness. Then she took her San Fransisco policies statewide as the California Attorney General. Now one of the most naturally blessed states in the country is experiencing a mass exodus of its most productive people.
As the Vice President, Harris was appointed by Joe Biden to be the border czar. Under her supervision, enough illegal aliens entered the country to populate Los Angeles three times over. Yet in this year’s election, Kamala Harris will undoubtedly get over 70 million votes. How is it that someone as unaccomplished as Harris is even competitive?
About one third of voters are concerned that we’re losing our self-governed republic, and vote for the candidates least likely to undermine our Constitution -- Republicans. Another third of voting age citizens don’t bother to vote. They’re the complacent, who either don’t care about our future, or have given up.
The remaining third of adult citizens votes for the party openly undermining the Constitution -- Democrats. Only a tiny portion of that third are true radicals who think our Constitution is obsolete, and wish our federated republic to be replaced with a system of centralized control. Most Democrat voters are those who vote their feelings. The non-voters and the “feelings” voters comprise the complacent gullible segment of Americans.
The MSM propaganda machinery is determined to sell the socialist narrative to the gullible. It does so by playing to their feelings. Socialism is described as “neighborliness.” Government seizure and redistribution is simply “spreading the wealth around.” The government picking commercial winners and losers is “saving the planet.” The propagandists hope the gullible find blind acceptance of the narrative less troublesome than observation and analysis.
The narrative asks us to sacrifice our freedom because
Carbon dioxide is killing us -- even though it’s essential for life
Speech is violence -- but actual violence requires context
Killing the unborn is a fundamental right -- but defending ourselves is not, and
All races are equal -- but some are incapable of achievement without government intervention.
The narrative is designed to make the gullible “feel good” about sacrificing their rights for centralized control.
Shortly before his death, I watched a Charles Krauthammer interview on Fox News in which he shared his accumulated wisdom (unfortunately I can’t find the link). He said that he didn’t think our civilization would end because of a meteor impact, or an extinction level pandemic.
He suspected that mankind would die quietly as we stop caring enough to survive. We would give up on producing food, maintaining the infrastructure, and enforcing standards of civilized behavior. Krauthammer predicted that civilization would stop facing life’s challenges, and wither away from complacency. One need only take a tour through Kamala’s home state of California to see the beginning of that decline.
How did that happen?
During the 20th century, the government undertook a massive change of mission. It transitioned from being our protector, to being our provider. Our founder’s vision (as codified in the Constitution) was that the federal government exists to protect our inalienable rights, secure us from threats, and maintain civil order. But it has morphed into a leviathan that protects us from
Loss of income with bailouts and unemployment compensation,
Economic downturns with stimulus,
Ethnic disparities with quotas, and
Personal offense with censorship.
The gullible naively expect tomorrow to be just like today -- if not better -- due to the government’s benevolent oversight. The party of FDR, LBJ, and Kamala Harris offers us a world free of consequences, in exchange for our freedom. A disturbing number of voters will accept that deal.
But a world without consequences is a world without accountability -- failure costs nothing. But when failure is free, it is also abundant. That abundance applies equally to us, and to the government functionaries which the gullible trust as their caregivers, even though it has become obvious that such trust is misplaced.
Those entrusted with our welfare, are totally unconcerned with our wellbeing. Do the TSA agents at the airport seem at all concerned about our travel experience? That indifference infects our entire government.
The Department of Homeland Security has lost track of 320,000 illegal immigrant children released into the country. Yet there hasn’t been a mass mobilization of law enforcement to find them. Our federal bureaucrats are apparently indifferent that those children may now be slaves or sex workers. Ahh… complacency is such a peaceful state of mind.
Just one month after an assassination attempt on Donald Trump, a Secret Service agent guarding him left her post without permission to breast feed. Yet she’s still on the job because she lives in a consequence-free world, in which there is no consequences for prioritizing her convenience over the life of her protectee.
Our military is the best trained and funded in the world. Yet it lost a 20-year war to an 80,000-man, poorly trained, and equipped army. Despite such an epic failure, nobody in leadership has been fired, disciplined, or even suffered loss of advancement. It’s easy focusing on social engineering when there are no consequences for military failure.
NASA sent two astronauts on a one-week mission.
They’ve now been marooned in orbit for months. Yet there hasn’t been any agency “full court press” such as was done for the Apollo 13 accident. The complacent NASA leadership is saying: maybe we’ll get the astronauts back later this month, or maybe next year -- depending on schedules.
Freedom from consequences has made those maintaining our government complacent, and the safety net it promised is rotting -- even as the net’s load is increasing.
We are approaching a suicidal level of complacency because
Corporations are too big to fail,
Oaths of office aren’t binding promises,
Professional expertise has been replaced by intersectionality,
Failure has become victimhood, and
Government incompetence is justification for government growth.
Eventually the net will fail and an unprepared people will be met with the consequence of avoiding the realities of life for years. It will be because the party of Obama, Biden, Harris, and Walz assured us that they could deliver a utopian world free of consequences. Most Harris’ voter will be those who chose to live as naïve children, not realizing that they are entrusting their welfare to other indifferent children.
The contrasts between Trump/Vance and Harris/Walz gives us a clear choice in November. Will we choose to be coddled like children -- blissfully unaware that the consequence of today’s “feel good” is tomorrow’s downfall? Or will we choose to be self-reliant adults -- securing the future, by accepting accountability today? I pray the disaster that has been the Biden administration has moved a few people out of the “gullible” column.

Thurs. 29 Aug. 2024 Overview of GCR/RV …Charlie Ward and Friends on Telegram The following post is an overview for those who don’t know what this GCR/RV is all about. Most people think these three things are basically the same event, not true. Each one is different.
· The GCR – the Global Currency Reset – has two separate factors or parts of the whole even.
· The First factor: two hundred and nine countries of the world have signed a treaty in 2014 and will reset the value of their currency through the Cross-Border Interbank Payment System (CIPS) to be on parity with all other nations of the world. That means the value of the one Dong will be the same as the value of one dollar, or any other national currency. The real value will be felt in international trade. The Global reset means that Forex Trading for profit will be of little value as the reset will stabilize currencies and would not be subject to manipulation of currency by any government or corporation. It will affect the export markets as well, to accommodate a country’s balance of trade. Obviously, Fiat Currencies will never work in such a structured, internationally balanced.
· Quantum Financial System (QFS): To accomplish this parity, a mathematical formula was created, by some very intelligent economist types (the QFS Super Artificial Intelligence), to take a conglomerate of economic data, apply a predetermined value to each data point and come up with a value for each country. This value, compared to other countries, has more to do with, the amount of currency put into circulation in that country, than it has to do with the value of its currency. The, use factor, of the amount of currency in a countries economy, must balance the problem of supply and demand of currency while still maintaining consistent value within the international community. A problem of no small consequence for those who plan the world economy around currency and economical parity and how to accomplish this.
· The Second factor in the reset, is digital Gold backed currency. To back the currency with Gold in the new QFS financial system means there is a digital Gold certificate that says you can exchange that piece of digital currency for a real piece of Gold. That means you can use either a piece of Gold or a piece of Gold backed digital money to make a purchase. Digital Money is used for convenience instead of carrying around Gold pieces. Both have the same value. The common denominator of the value of any currency is the backing of that currency by a valued commodity or asset.
· While in-ground assets and other types of assets, as well as, the economy of the country, etc., plays into the parity of that currency, Gold is the most visible and universal standard to determine value. In the new QFS Digital Financial System, Gold is used as the leveling factor that buffers diversities within each country as compared to another.
· As we Exchange our old Fiat currencies for the new Gold backed currencies, we are, in effect exchanging the entire old Cabal debt slavery Financial System for a brand new, QFS Gold backed Financial System. The Central Bank of each country will once again be a part of their Treasury Department and not owned by outside private entities like the Federal Reserve Banking system, who function for their own greed and agenda.
