The ‘intifada’ comes to New Orleans

‘Bring the intifada home!’, cried Ivy League radicals throughout 2024. Well, here it is. On the bloodstained, wreckage-strewn streets of New Orleans. In the shattered limbs of the injured, the extinguished promise of the dead. The very Islamist violence that the West’s woke influencers have been making excuses for, have been glorifying as ‘resistance’, have openly praised from the safety of their leafy campuses, has now struck at the heart of America’s own Big Easy. Is this what you wanted?

 

The atrocity on Bourbon Street on New Year’s morning would have been horrifying in any era. Fifteen dead, scores injured. All mown down or shot, allegedly by Shamsud-Din Jabbar. He is the 42-year-old US army vet who is suspected of ploughing his pick-up truck through hordes of joyful revellers in the French Quarter just three hours into the new year. He had guns, and improvised explosive devices, and the black flag of ISIS. This has all the hallmarks of an act of Islamist barbarism, visited without mercy on those that Islamists hate above all others: young, carefree Westerners who have the sinful temerity to drink, dance and love life.

 

The list of the dead reads like a roll-call of those good, everyday Americans who make that great republic tick. Kimberly Usher Fall, the 27-year-old manager of a deli store and mother of a four-year-old boy. Nikyra Cheyenne Dedeaux, an 18-year-old aspiring nurse. Reggie Hunter, 37, a store manager and dad of two. Matthew Tenedorio, a 25-year-old audio-visual technician.


Martin ‘Tiger’ Bech, a former football player at Princeton. Here we had the workers, carers and students of the United States butchered by a man who had allegedly committed the most heinous treason of swearing allegiance to the death cult of ISIS. The horror on Bourbon Street is a reminder of the indiscriminate savagery of the Islamist ideology: to these fanatics, every inhabitant of the ungodly West – man, woman and child – is a legitimate target.

 

Yet in our era, the massacre in the Big Easy hits even harder, it hurts even more. For ours is an epoch of excuse-making for Islamist violence. Ours is a time in which the activist class, the educated, the influential and the supposedly ‘progressive’ issue craven apologias for precisely the kind of ideological sadism that was inflicted on the merrymakers of New Orleans. They’re on record calling such mass murder ‘resistance’.


They’ve hailed its practitioners as ‘martyrs’. They’ve celebrated the blow that these religious hysterics sometimes land on ‘evil’, ‘imperial’ nations. What will they say now, as New Orleans reels from what they falsely and madly swoon over as ‘resistance’?

 

The New Orleans massacre follows more than a year of noisy Islamo-apologism in educated circles in the West. Since Hamas’s pogrom of 7 October 2023, sympathy for Islamism has been all the rage among the right-on. ‘Long live the intifada’, they cried.


Even ‘Globalise the intifada’. This gushing over ‘intifada’ in the weeks and months following an ‘intifada’ that involved the slaughter of more than a thousand Jews by an army of fanatical Islamists dragged us to ever greater depths of ethical delirium and moral depravity. Some even hailed the Islamist butchery of 7 October as ‘exhilarating’ and ‘energising’.


Imagine if someone said that about New Orleans. Imagine if they said they felt elated upon hearing of this barbarous slaying of the young. Perhaps someone will. It is a testament to the slow, deadly corrosion of our civilisational values that it would not be wholly surprising if someone did.

 

For the truth is that something very like the New Orleans massacre happened on 7 October, only on a far larger scale, and back then the activist class celebrated it. The 364 young men and women butchered at the Nova music festival by the invading Islamists from Gaza were every bit as innocent as the slain of Bourbon Street.


They were every bit as ‘full of life’. Yet their extermination was downplayed. In some cases it was outright cheered. That Islamist assault was a ‘day of celebration’, some said. ‘Glory to our martyrs’, said student agitators days after those ‘martyrs’ raped and murdered hundreds of revellers who were indistinguishable, in their spirit and their liberty, from the revellers of New Orleans.

 

The case was made, whether implicitly or explicitly, that the Nova partygoers weren’t all that innocent. They were citizens of a ‘settler-colonial’ regime. They were inhabitants of the ‘Zionist entity’. They had the gall to live free, untroubled lives in a ‘genocidal state’. If it turns out that the butcher of Bourbon Street thought similarly – that no one in America is truly innocent because America commits ‘war crimes’ and sponsors Israel’s ‘genocide’ – what will we say?


What can we say? After all, our elites have fully embraced the poisonous ideology of collective guilt and punishment, where if you live in a state that does ‘bad’ things, then you have no right to be surprised if Islamist vengeance comes your way.

 

No, this is not to say the suspect in the New Year’s Day massacre was directly inspired by the past year’s depraved cries of ‘Bring the intifada home’. The bored rich kids of the West who unforgivably made light of the Islamist slaughter in Israel are not responsible for what that man allegedly did. But we do need to talk about the creepy empathy for the Islamist ideology that has spread like a pox through our institutions. For years, the West failed to take seriously the threat posed by the Islamist menace.

 

Even as hundreds were massacred by Islamists in Britain, France, Germany, Spain and elsewhere, we said ‘Don’t look back in anger’, don’t get too het up, don’t say or do anything that might stir up ‘Islamophobia’. Over the past year, this lethal insouciance in the face of the Islamist derangement morphed into something even worse: active sympathy for Islamism. They call it ‘intifada’ but we all know what they mean: the killing of citizens by Islamist ideologues with a grievance. Like what happened on Bourbon Street.

 

The attack on New Orleans was an attack on America itself. On its young, its workers, its openness, its freedoms. We should mourn the victims and then confront, head-on, the unsettling rapport with such neo-fascism that has bubbled up in our very own societies in recent years.

Debt forgiveness is critical during Jubilee 2025:

The Jubilee Year is, for many, about making a pilgrimage to Rome, walking through one of the Holy Doors at the various basilicas. Thanks to Pope Francis, there is a Holy Door at the Rebibbia prison. Such pilgrimages confer a plenary indulgence, the remission of temporal punishment for sins already forgiven, on those who make them.

 

In advance of the 2000 Jubilee, Pope John Paul II and many other religious leaders called for a different kind of remission, canceling the debt of impoverished nations. Jubilee USA was founded at that time to help make this retrieval of the ancient practice of forgiving debt during a jubilee a reality.

 

Francis, in his New Year's address, made debt forgiveness a central theme of this year's Jubilee as well. "The first to forgive debts is God, as we always ask him when we pray the Lord's Prayer, referring to our sins and committing ourselves to forgive in turn those who have offended us," the pope said. "And the Jubilee asks us to translate this forgiveness on a social level, so that no person, no family, no population is crushed by debts. I therefore encourage the rulers of countries with a Christian tradition to set a good example by canceling or reducing as much as possible the debts of the poorest countries."

 

The roots of the idea of a jubilee marked by debt forgiveness are found in the Hebrew Scriptures. I asked my friend Rabbi Yehiel Poupko, rabbinic scholar at the Jewish United Fund/Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago, about this scriptural warrant.

 

"There are no Mitzvot [commandments] in the Torah about international borrowing and lending," Poupko told me. Nonetheless, "Deuteronomy 15 also makes clear that at some point debt can grow to be so significant that the normal processes of need, requesting a loan, making a loan, and paying back can accrue to such a degree as to bring normal economic life to a halt. Hence, the Torah provides for quite literally what we called during the Depression a bank holiday."

 

Other parts of Torah shed light on the ethics of debt. For example, in Exodus (22:24-26) we read, "If you lend money to My people, to the poor among you, do not act toward them as a creditor; exact no interest from them. If you take your neighbor's garment in pledge, you must return it to him before the sun sets; it is his only clothing, the sole covering for his skin. In what else shall he sleep? Therefore, if he cries out to Me, I will pay heed, for I am compassionate."

 

"Now comes the task of transferring from the Mitzvot that govern relations between individuals to relations between lender and borrower nations," said Poupko. "To put it plainly, the principles apply. The Torah never wants to see a situation in which one party — be it an individual or a nation — accrues such debt that the lender exerts imperium.


That the lender feels that he or she can enter the home (or the country) of the borrower (Deut 24:10-11). Or, that the basic necessities of life, such as the night garment in Exodus 22:25 are no longer available to the borrower."

This year, the good people at Jubilee USA and their colleagues throughout the world want to make sure the poor nations of the world are not without their modern-day equivalent of a night garment.

 

"According to the World Bank, the 26 poorest countries, where 40% of the world's population lives on less than $2.15 a day, are choosing between the social needs of their people and making debt payments," said Eric LeCompte, executive director of the Jubilee USA Network. "The pandemic spurred greater food and debt crises around the globe and led to lost decades of development."

"Rwanda struggles with more than half of the population living in extreme poverty and a third of their kids struggling with chronic malnutrition. Those numbers are growing," LeCompte said.


LeCompte looks back to the successes that grew out of the 2000 Jubilee effort as providing hope for the future. 

"Because of Pope John Paul II, Pope Benedict [XVI] and the Jubilee 2000 movement, we won more than 130 billion dollars in debt relief and 54 million kids went to school in Africa who never would have seen the inside of the classroom," he told me. "Pope Francis is calling us to finish the unfinished work of Jubilee 2000 — for Jubilee 2025 we must create new international bankruptcy processes to end debt crises forever."

 

$130 billion sounds like so much money. But Forbes just estimated Elon Musk's personal wealth at $421.2 billion. In fact, his personal wealth grew by $213 billion last year. One man. One year.

The pope's encouragement helps bring the world's attention to the issue, but it is the hard work of groups like Jubilee USA that makes debt relief a reality. It is complicated stuff. 

 

I wrote about their work helping religious leaders in Puerto Rico deal with the debt crisis the island faced in the last decade. In an interview at Commonweal, San Juan Archbishop Roberto González recently discussed the help LeCompte gave him and the island's other religious leaders. 

 

Here in the U.S., liberal Catholics are preparing for the various menacing things Donald Trump is planning to do. Jubilee USA has a history of working across the aisle, and while debt forgiveness is not on the top of Trump's agenda, unless the debts are his own, perhaps some conscientious members of Congress can craft bipartisan legislation that addresses the clamant problem. 

 

Whatever our economic problems here in America, we cannot even imagine the desperation of those living in extreme poverty. But we can do something about it.

Chrystia Freeland reaches out to Liberal MPs as speculation swirls about Justin Trudeau’s future:

The former finance minister has been calling Liberal MPs in the wake of her bombshell resignation that preceded the latest and biggest wave of pressure so far on the prime minister to step down as his party’s leader. 

OTTAWA — Former finance minister Chrystia Freeland has been calling Liberal MPs in the wake of her bombshell resignation that preceded the latest and biggest wave of pressure so far on Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to step down. 

 

Several MPs, speaking on condition of anonymity, told the Star that Freeland has reached out and spoken to them in recent days. While the MPs said Freeland did not bring up the Liberal leadership, one of them felt the calls were connected to a potential leadership run, while another said they were “impressed” by the outreach. 

Freeland’s calls come as her fellow MPs, party insiders and officials grapple with how the Liberals might replace Trudeau as he ponders his political future.


Among the considerations is how to ensure that Canada can adeptly address U.S. president-elect Donald Trump’s threatened 25-per-cent trade tariffs, while ensuring Liberal party supporters would have a chance to choose a new leader before opposition parties stage an election-triggering confidence vote in the House of Commons.

 

There is also speculation about who might run to replace Trudeau to lead the Liberals into the next federal election campaign against Pierre Poilievre’s Conservatives, who hold a commanding lead in public opinion polls. 

Two Liberal sources with knowledge of Freeland’s thinking said this week that they believe Trudeau’s long-time political partner is mulling a bid to replace him if he steps down in the coming days.

“I think she’s actively considering,” said one of the sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

“She would be a very capable contender.”

 

The second source suggested Freeland — who served on Trudeau’s front bench since 2015 and as his deputy prime minister since 2019 — might be better positioned for a leadership run since she resigned from cabinet last month.

In her resignation letter, which she posted online, the former finance minister said she had been “at odds” with Trudeau on the “best path forward for Canada,” and suggested the federal government was spending too much money when fiscal reserves should be kept to deal with the threat of a “tariff war” by Trump. 

 

Freeland resigned just hours before she was supposed to present a fiscal update that showed the government had blown past its target for the federal deficit by more than $20 billion. 

The source said they believe Freeland is now making efforts to ensure the door is open for a potential leadership run if Trudeau resigns. 

 

A spokesperson for Freeland did not say whether the former finance minister would seek the party leadership, but confirmed that she intends to run again in the upcoming federal election. 

“Ms. Freeland looks forward to running in the next election as the Liberal candidate in her riding of University—Rosedale,” Katherine Cuplinskas said. 

 

A source close to Freeland suggested the chatter about a potential leadership bid was getting ahead of itself, arguing she resigned from cabinet because the prime minister had lost confidence in her. 

Meanwhile, former British Columbia premier Christy Clark is preparing to run for leader if Trudeau steps down, said one Liberal insider with knowledge of the organizing that has gone on for Clark so far.

 

Clark called for Trudeau to resign last summer, and told the Star at the time that people are encouraging her to seek the Liberal leadership if it opened up. 

“We know what a team would look like, and we have a theory for how to win,” the insider said, describing Clark as “the only change candidate” in a potential leadership race.

The insider said a possible Clark campaign would aim to attract a broad range of voters and stress economic issues, affordability and fiscal responsibility. 

 

Another potential candidate is Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly, according to a Liberal source with knowledge of her thinking. The source said Joly hasn’t yet decided if she would run, as she focuses on working with the incoming Trump administration and its threat of trade tariffs. The source also said Joly is wary of vying for the leadership only to lose the next election to Poilievre’s Conservatives. 

 

Former Bank of Canada governor Mark Carney has also been the frequent subject of leadership speculation, but has never confirmed he intends to run. 

 

Frank Baylis, a former Quebec Liberal MP and businessman, told the Star this week that “many people are encouraging” him to run for the leadership, and that he’s considering it if Trudeau resigns. 

“I will be happy to talk in detail about this, once the prime minister makes his decision about staying or leaving,” Baylis said by email. 

 

In recent days, signs have continued to emerge that Trudeau is losing the support of his own caucus. Liberal MPs from Ontario have said many of their colleagues agreed in a recent meeting that Trudeau should resign. The party’s Atlantic MPs, in a letter from Nova Scotia’s Kody Blois, have also called on him to leave and to hold a meeting to select an interim leader. 

 

Two Quebec MPs told the Star there is a consensus in that province’s Liberal caucus that Trudeau needs to resign. 

The calls come after a group of 24 Liberal MPs pushed in October for Trudeau to step down. More have come forward publicly since Freeland’s resignation, urging the prime minister to leave for the good of the party. 

Marcus Powlowski, a Liberal MP from northern Ontario, said Thursday that he believes there are several “really good candidates” who could replace Trudeau and more effectively face off against the Conservatives. 

 

He named Freeland, Joly, Finance Minister Dominic LeBlanc, Industry Minister François-Philippe Champagne and Transport Minister Anita Anand as contenders he might favour.

“We would not do well in an election right now with the present leader,” Powlowski said, referring to Trudeau.

“With a new leader, we would do better.”

 

Some MPs who spoke to the Star this week said they would like to see the prime minister prorogue Parliament — temporarily shutting it down to reset the legislative agenda — to give the Liberals time to choose a new leader.

Under the Liberal party’s constitution, the party’s board of directors sets the date for a leadership vote.

The rules include timelines that leadership candidates must submit paperwork at least 90 days before the vote, but two Liberal MPs — who spoke Thursday on condition of anonymity — said they want a shorter race if Trudeau resigns, given the current circumstances. 

 

“The sooner the better, because that gives us more time to hold an open, democratic leadership process,” one MP said.

Why is the NDP propping up the Liberals?

So, I have been thinking on why the NDP Government is propping up the Liberals and wondering why. The rumors are that Singh is holding on for his Pension, but what can he really do to drag his feet… then it hit me like a tonne of bricks.  Here is my opinion with a little help from AI.

 

In early 2023, reports emerged alleging foreign interference, particularly by China, in Canada's federal elections. In response, NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh advocated for a comprehensive public inquiry to investigate these claims and assess the government's handling of the situation.

On March 23, 2023, the NDP introduced a motion in the House of Commons calling for an independent public inquiry into foreign interference in Canada's electoral system. The motion passed with support from all opposition parties, though the governing Liberals voted against it.

 

Initially, the government appointed former Governor General David Johnston as a special rapporteur to investigate the allegations. However, facing criticism over perceived conflicts of interest, Johnston resigned in June 2023. Subsequently, in September 2023, Justice Marie-Josée Hogue was appointed to lead the Public Inquiry into Foreign Interference in Federal Electoral Processes and Democratic Institutions.

 

As of October 2024, the inquiry is ongoing, with a final report expected by December 2024. Singh has emphasized the importance of implementing the inquiry's recommendations to safeguard Canada's electoral integrity before

Unmasking the dangers of centralized control over health and society

Reflecting on recent developments in Canada, I’ve been struck by the alarming implications of Bill C-293 and its connection to broader global agendas. This legislation, under the guise of promoting health, represents a significant threat to individual freedoms, food security, and the sanctity of personal choice.

The Global Parasite Class and "One Health"

Centralized power structures often hide behind noble-sounding initiatives. One such concept, "One Health," claims to integrate human, animal, and environmental health into a unified framework. While interconnectedness is a valid concept at a spiritual level, this initiative manipulates it to justify sweeping control over virtually every aspect of life.

This is not hypothetical. Provisions within Bill C-293 could enable the shutdown of small farms under the pretext of health emergencies, further centralizing food production and undermining local resilience.

 

The Fight Against Suppression

For years, ethical voices have been silenced. Physicians like Dr. Patrick Phillips and others who resisted coercion and spoke truth to power faced relentless persecution. Despite this, many of us have persisted, focusing on solutions, education, and advocacy.

 

Ivermectin, for example, is a proven treatment for various conditions yet remains inaccessible due to regulatory roadblocks. Organizations like the World Council for Health provide protocols and guidelines, but widespread access is still restricted, a stark reminder of the ongoing suppression of effective, affordable treatments.

 

Building New Systems of Trust

The challenges are immense, but they are not insurmountable. Across the globe, networks of ethical doctors, scientists, and advocates are forming to counteract these authoritarian measures. We’re creating legitimate alternatives—health organizations, educational resources, and even new governance models—that prioritize truth, transparency, and individual rights.

 

As we face these trials, I’m reminded that the fight for freedom and integrity in health care is far from over. By raising awareness, taking action, and supporting new systems of accountability, we can reclaim our rights and ensure a future where health decisions remain personal and sovereign.

The journey is difficult, but together, we can lay the groundwork for a system rooted in genuine care, informed consent, and respect for human dignity.

I do not profess to be an expert on currency exchanges and Zim Bond redemption, but I am often asked about the process. Therefore, it is my personal opinion and understanding that:

The White Hat Military is in charge of the exchanges.

The White Hat Military has access to all of our personal information on their new Quantum Computer. They know changes in your address, phones, email addresses, what and where currency and Zim Bonds were bought and who bought it.

Only you can exchange your currency and Zim Bonds and set up your personal account on the Quantum Financial System. It is done through your DNA and Body rhymes.

Everyone is receiving the same rates on the currency, although you can ask for the Dinar Contract Rate, while the rate on the Zim Bonds is determined by your personal Humanitarian Project.

No one can negotiate special rates for you.

No one can exchange for you.

If you have been gifted currency or Zim you need a dated and notarized statement from the person who gifted you that states the amount, name and address of who gifted and name and address of who it was gifted to.

They cannot exchange for you. If you are relying on someone else to exchange and redeem for you, they cannot do it and you will lose your money. The exception is if you bring the person or persons with you to your exchange and they sign the Non Disclosure Agreement, along with yourself.

Bringing someone else to your exchange is not necessarily a good idea because if they break your Non Disclosure Agreement you will lose all your money.
